Making them strickter will just prevent law obiding sitisens from buying them with there good day's monney from a good day's work. How will we protect ourselves against them? • Stricter laws are bad

If citizens cannot purchase guns to protect themselves when criminals who have attack decide to , then crime would go up. Citizens cannot protect themselves from the irrational who kill people with he guns. Also, the government cannot legally take away people who already have them, so guns would still be present. It is the person that pull the trigger and fires a weapon, not the weapon firing itself.

  • The right to bear arms shall not be infringed

Besides the need for citizens to have a deterrent against becoming complete slaves to a despotic government. Guns also allow citizens to protect property and life from criminal elements.

Criminals dont ever buy guns legally. Outside of mental health checks and criminal record checks gun laws only prevent legal citizens from exercising their rights and protecting themselves.

  • Crime rate would go up for murder/injury

If its stricter, then what will good citizens protect there selfs with? Criminals will still have access to shanks/knifes. And citizens will think their safe because gun laws are more safe. So their guard will be lower. And they have no gun for self-defence. That is why we need guns for people who don't have felonies. And dont give any felons weapons

  • Stricter gun laws are bad.

Criminals do not care about the new stricter law and the only people that will be effected are the law abiding citizens. There for, the only people that will effected, will be the people that want a gun for protection rather than the people that are causing the crimes. Also the first step in a government that takes all the power away from its people is to disarm its citizens.

  • Citizens should be armed to combat criminals.

Regardless of gun control laws, criminals are going to acquire guns. By stripping citizens of their gun rights, this makes innocent citizens more at risk of danger because they do not have guns to fight back when criminals attack. By banning guns for citizens, criminals will have the upper hand, and citizens will not be safe.

  • No, they won't.

I don't believe that stricter gun laws will make citizens less safe. I believe that there will be less gun violence and less accidental shootings. If someone is law abiding, they should have no problem with following the regulations. It is fairly rare for a person to thwart a robbery or assault with a handgun without regulations anyway.

  • Promote mental health, God, Family and the love for fellow human beings rather than guns.

The need to use a gun should be very rare if at all. People in society that are becoming depressed or on a jealous rage or have fallen to the margins of society such as notorious criminals like the serial killers and the like are more likely the product of poor connection with loving people in their lives. Career criminals are probably the result of over regulation by government and the utilization of too much copyright and intellectual property rights laws. Career criminals operate nearly like corporations except they can't defend themselves in a cot like a corporation does. Do you see Pepsi do drive by shootings of Coca Cola? Petty criminals are probably the result of not being able to fit in anywhere and feel they don't want to or can't make a positive contribution to society. I could on and on and on.... but in short what my point is that bringing back the nuclear family, fostering a stronger social bond in the community via clubs and associations and the church and also relaxing certain laws in order for people to run their own businesses would go a long way in helping a reduced need for guns if at all.

  • Where is the the evidence

All credible research done in the United States and any comparison of the United States to various peer countries seems to show the positive correlation between guns and violence. The more guns..the more violence, the more people get hurt and die. Therefore it is hard to see how one could conclude that stricter gun laws would make anyone less safe.

  • We Can Use Tasers

We don't need guns for self-defense. If you are worried about becoming the victim of a crime buy a taser, unless you live in one of 5 states that still doesn't allow private citzens even with registration and licensing to have them which is absurd given that these states let people have handguns.
If people switched over to tasers some deaths would occur because they aren't perfectly nonlethal but less deaths would occur.

  • No, it will make us safer.

Most of the violent deaths from guns in our country come from average citizens killing each other one on one for whatever reason, by accident or most often out of anger. If it were more difficult to get handguns less of my neighbors would have them and I would be safer as a result. I am more likely to be killed by one of them than I am by a mass shooter, so I am strongly in favor of more restrictive laws for gun ownership in general.

  • Stricter gun laws will help keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn't have them.

A prime example of this is the Virginia Tech shooter who was able to legally purchase guns and pass a background check despite having serious mental issues. Criminals can and will always find a way to get around restrictions but tightening the laws will limit options for many people.

  • No, it will help make citizens much safer.

Stricter gun laws will provide us with safer gun owners. Even with the way the laws are now, guns can be illegally obtained. While I imagine that would stay the same, stricter laws and regulations regarding who can own guns will make those who obtain them legally be safer with them, whether it is through increased training before using gun or actually locking them up properly. Mental screenings would hopefully provide only those who are mentally stable with the opportunity to legally own a gun.
