The Belo Monte Dam project will be a good source of energy for Brazil. This is because studies have been done that tell us that it will reduce the country's reliance on more traditional, pollution-producing energy sources. And if Brazil succeeds, it will be a great model for alternative energy for the rest of the world.
When completed, the Belo Monte Dam will be one of the largest in the world and produce a substantial amount of renewable energy for Brazil. The dam may be controversial due to possible ecological side effects, but that it will create a lot of energy is really indisputable. Therefore the project will indeed be a good source of energy.
It is the worlds largest hydroelectric dam. I don't see how it wouldn't be a good source of energy. The theory behind it is sound and the process seems well thought out. The only issue is how it will effect the water sources surrounding it. Will the environment be hurt?
Yes it will increase the flow of water and they will be able to have more resources to pull from. They are going to be able to pull directly from this source of water for all of their basic necessities and to supply the power plant. It will provide even more jobs in the area.
Belo Monte Dam is a good source of energy, but at a huge cost. It will be the world's third largest hydroelectric dam aroudn the world, but at a huge cost in Brazilian rainforests. It will damage over 1500 square kilometers of rain forests and displace thousands of people. The Brazilians could invest their money into alternative energy far less damagin to the rainforests than the Belo Monte Dam.
