Will Whatsapp convince users to put up with ads to get free phone service?

  • Ads are Part of Modern Life

Advertisements on the Internet and our mobile devices are part of contemporary life. Consumers love free stuff that works well, and Whatsapp is one way to deliver free service for users. The advertisements may be annoying, but we've been dealing with commercials on radio and television for 70 years. If we can stand mass media ads on TV and radio, we can deal with ads on mobile phones.

  • Yes, the users were expecting this at one point or another.

In a world full of ads, do we really even notice them anymore? When you download any sort of app on your phone you expect to see an ad. When you don't, do you even care? As long ad they aren't in the way, or accidentally clickable, users won't mind.

  • Phones are so expensive.

Yes, Whatsapp will convince users to put up with ads to get free phone service, because this is a good option for people who are on a limited budget. Young people cannot afford $50 each month for a smart phone, so it is a good idea to offer them ads in exchange for the service. They will be happy about it.

  • Everyone Hates Facebook

I do not believe Whatsapp will convince users to put up with ads to get free phone service. People hate advertising and many people can obtain phone service that is completely affordable. Secondly, people use their phones when WiFi signals are not available and Whatsapp does not have towers. Whatsapp was also purchased by Facebook and many people don't trust Facebook at all.
