Wind energy: Does wind energy preserve (yes) or harm (no) local ecosystems?

  • Yes, wind energy is good for the environment.

Generally speaking, alternative forms of energy are better for the environment. The erection of wind mills, for instance, harnesses the power of the air and wind without damaging the ecosystems around them. It is usually a better choice and will continue to be a better choice as the years go on and we would see the planet suffering otherwise.

  • It harms local ecosystems

i believe wind turbines produce a vibration that is detrimental to honey bee colonies. When the bee's flight patterns get thrown off by external forces, they have trouble locating their hives, therefore become stranded. If that is true, bats could become disoriented as well because they use sonar to see.
