Poor children are constantly left behind because there is an ever increasing need for low skill labor. If society were to decide that it was more ethical to remove a child's ability to grow up and fill a spot in a factory line then an emphasis would be placed on developing that child to fill a position where it's mind would be valuable. In a society where only 28% graduate from college with a bachelor's degree and the vast majority of these people come from middle and upper-class families we would end up with a much more valuable work force. The typical college grads, from higher classes with arms, would make a very valuable manual labor force. They are convinced that their success comes from an inherent work ethic they are born with so there is no worry that they would slip into the category of lazy bums that just don't want to work. Those born to impoverished families whose arms had been removed and concentration had been placed on their mental development would fill the roles of management and executives. Wages would rise for the laborer as they would be capable of doing something the higher ups were unable to do and thus bring down inflated wages for higher ups. This is obviously extreme, it is meant to be a thought experiment.
I am not the biggest defender of the second amendment but this obviously unconstitutional. This is a clear violation of the right to bear arms protected in the bill of rights. Without arms the populace would be unable to rebel against an oppressive government or defend their first amendment freedoms of speech. People kill people, arms dont kill people. Arms are used more in self defense than in crimes. Those who want to ban arms will be the first to embrace the tyranical governments that surely follow. And theyre all hypocrites: they ban our arms and yet they have armed gaurds? Defend your freedom, keep your arms, vote no.
Why would you cut the arms off of the poor? With Capitalism there will always be poor, and without arms they can't work and feed themselves.
Not to mention the protest against such thing. Arms are tools, we like to use these amazing tools for many things. It makes life much easier and more survivable.
Sorry, I don't say this too often, but this is just dumb. We live in the real world, and we can try to perfect it, but this certainly isn't the way to go about it. People will always be poor. It sucks, but its true. In order for people to feed themselves, and to survive, they must be able to work. This is especially true for the poor because they commonly do manual labor. If you were to cut off of their limbs, they would lose this ability. And no, they wouldn't suddenly be given better jobs because they lost their arms. Those that have good jobs would hold on to their good jobs and would just use the middle class or the lower class to do the labor that needs to be done. No matter what, manual labor has to be done by someone, and its best to be done by the poor, because if they can't do that, someone else will.
In what society would it be okay to cut off arms of children just because they were born into poverty? Is this even a question? These people are humans too, not a creature who just randomly appeared on the Earth. That's like saying we should cut off peoples legs because they don't have black hair, or we should cut off peoples ears because their IQ is lower than 100. No way would I agree with this statement.
Arms are important in the first place. And why would someone even think of this ?? Cutting off a child's arm would be like shaming them, calling them different than the rest of us . Cutting off an arm would not help anything . It would actually make things worse.
I will dance on your grave. Why would you hurt someone be cause they were born into poverty. Some of americas greatest inventors lived in poverty. Why would you do this. Arms are used more in self defense than in crimes. Those who want to ban arms will be the first to embrace the tyranical governments that surely follow. . And theyre all hypocrites: they ban our arms and yet they have armed gaurds? Defend your freedom, keep your arms, vote no.
