  • You reap what you sow

Phones can be allowed in class, so long as it is not disturbing the others. As said before, a phone is awfully handy for keeping track of dates, quick research, great educational apps, etc. The idea that using a phone for recreational use and will distract them from class work is very true. If they're constantly texting in class, or watching a dumb video, so be it. They will bring their own downfall. However, schools should discourage the use of the phone for recreational use (at least they have their defense in saying they tried) A student who is truly concerned about their school experience and education will use their phone wisely.

  • Keep kids safe

Letting kids have cell phones in school can prove a distraction if they use them too much. However, there is a benefit in that they can call for help and keep in touch with parents. Given the prevalence of incidents of violence at schools, having a student population empowered with cell phones can help them call for help.

  • Yes, cell phones have educational value.

Yes, schools should permit students to carry cell phones because the phones have numerous educational uses. Students use their phones to track their calendar, including the due dates of tests and assignments. Students also use the phones to research topics and verify the spelling or proper usage of a word. Smart phones also offer apps that assist in many subjects.

  • One word; Pornography.

Streaming it during class, sexting, snap chat. Would you let a kid read penthouse during math class? Yes some youth are more mature than others and have a healthy respect for boundaries, but lets be real. These are children... Why are we not teaching them as such. No matter how quick we accelerate their learning, we can not teach them to mature quicker than their brains can physically grow.

  • Why cellphones should be banned in classrooms

Cell phones are a major distraction to the younger generation. Their attention is often diverted due to texting and surfing the internet. Therefore, much of what is being taught in classrooms often goes unnoticed by students who are constantly using their cell phones. This drastically hinders the educational tools young students need to function in every day life.

  • Cell phones should not be allowed in schools.

Kids love to use their cell phones, and that makes cell phones a huge distraction in school classrooms. Kids go to school in order to learn and interact with others. When students are paying attention to their cell phones, they are not paying attention to their teachers and their classroom environment.
