Considering the founding fathers were some of the most famous atheists in history, they would probably cry to see the United States today. Fundamentalist religion has invaded the country and become the norm and it that was part of reason that they came to the US and created a new country.
The majority of Christians either completely ignore these facts or they choose to be ignorant regarding it...
When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.
With all of the policies our government has instituted (NSA spying, Common Core data mining, "Nanny State" laws, ect.), I believe the founders, if they could see what had become of the country they risked their fortunes and lives to create, would be utterly disappointed at what they saw. Our government is becoming more moronic daily, spewing unsustainable laws like Obamacare. Our police (which, by the way, are unconstitutional by nature) are becoming more and more militant and oppressive, and, for the most part, we're accepting these without a second thought. We're losing rights left and right, and what do we do? Nothing. The founders would be disappointed to see us in our sorry state today.
