Zoos: Should we ban the keeping of animals in zoos?

  • Yes we should

People are stupid and think that animals belong in a cage where they cannot breathe and they are not comfortable. Animals are meant to be kept in the wild and not in a space. Animals are born in the wild for a reason. They are not our animals to be keeping in places.

  • Animals belong out in the wild not in captivity.

Animals would survive way longer out in the wild than in captivity. The animals are forced to breed and they get sick because they are not used the climates and human handling. Animals get put in tight spaces, and are fed the wrong food. Over half of the worlds animals are born in captivity.

  • Why would you

Keep animals in zoos? They are living things to you know. Just because we have an advantage ovr them doesn't mean we have to use it. We should let them also look at the world and nature too. It's so sad , animals that are in the wild uasally live longer. Maybe if the animal is enlarged then fine but then leave the poor animals alone and let them live in the wild.

  • Zoos are good.

-not all zoos are perfect, but that doesn’t mean we should get rid of zoos, just because there is one grumpy policeman, it doesn’t mean we should get rid of the police, right?
    - Animals can live happily in good zoos, without the stress of predators,(nor will they be torn apart and eaten alive) or the pain of parasites, injuries or illnesses. They won’t suffer from drought or
starvation and will get a high quality diet. They are spared from bullying or social problems and have a suitable home in which to live.
-without the efforts of zoos to conserve animals, there would be fewer species alive today. When the animals are in zoos they can be studied so that the scientists know how to help their brothers in the wild, they learn about handling, transporting, and how much anaesthetics are needed.

  • Zoos Play Important Roll

While zoos can be harmful for animals in different ways, they serve a bigger purpose to the community. Plus, some zoos do provide a positive environment for animals that can't always survive in the wild. Zoos bring revenue to their community and educate people on the animals that live there.

  • Zoos highten appreciation for animal life

Going to a zoo can spark a new generation that respects animal life. Zoos help endangered animals have a chance at breeding in a safe environment. The lifestyle of captive animals might not be as fulfilling as in the wild, but in the long run for the survival of their species, it's totally appropriate to keep animals in zoos.

  • No we should not.

We should not ban the keeping of animals inside zoos. I get that to some people they look bad like we are trapping them but that is not really the case. We got those animals from the wild during a time where they needed protection or to be rehabilitated not because we are trying to cage them.

  • No, if they are well constructed.

A zoo is a place where human beings can see animals they never would otherwise see and develop a feeling for them and maybe a commitment to their conservation. In that regard they are fine, especially if they are well constructed in such a way as to mimic the animal's natural habitat with a lot of space.

  • Zoos Should Remain Open

I do not believe we should ban the keeping of animals in zoos. I believe zoos are an important asset for the communities who have them. They provide an excellent place for adults and children to learn about a wide variety of animals and see them in person. Without zoos there would be people in this world who never got to see a bear or penguin. I think the benefits of zoos far outweigh their problems.
