A Letter to Freddy Buache is a 1982 French short documentary film directed by Jean-Luc Godard. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1982 Cannes Film Festival.
Hans Lucas was a pseudonym used by Jean-Luc Godard when writing criticism during the 1950s for André Bazin's magazine Cahier du Cinéma, as well as for the magazine Godard founded during this time, Gazette du Cinéma. The name Hans Lucas was also used in the credits of the 1955 film Une femme... coquette. Godard produced, directed, and acted in the film as Jean-Luc Godard, but wrote the screenplay, photographed and edited under the name Hans Lucas. The Chicago math rock band 90 Day Men wrote and recorded a song entitled "Hans Lucas" that pays homage to Godard for their 2000 album it critical band.more
