  • Andrew Jackson: Good or Bad President

Andrew Jackson, though an American hero, was stubborn and vioent. Secondarily Andrew Jackson's invasion of Florida along with his ease in securing the Spanish capitol were the primary reasons why the Spanish sold Florida to the United States in 1819. Thus far the only relevant argument my opponent has made is, "he was stubborn and violent." I'll counter this by saying that Andrew Jackson could more accurately be characterized by the words, "opinionated" and "forceful".

  • Are the past four U.S. Presidents to blame for the $17.3 trillion deficit?

Since the debt has only been erased once in history, by Andrew Jackson, I suppose today's debt could fall on the shoulders of every administration since. In fact, Jackson only maintained that "debt-free status" for about 18 months.
