Barberton is a city in Summit County, Ohio, United States. The population was 27,899 at the 2000 census. It is a commuter town close to Akron and is part of the latter's Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.2 square miles , of which 9.0 square miles of it is land and 0.2 square miles of it is water.
