DeLand is the county seat of Volusia County, Florida. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 27,031. It is part of the Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area, which had a population of 494,593 at the 2010 census. DeLand is home to Stetson University and the Museum of Florida Art. Noted for its historic architecture, the downtown has been undergoing extensive renovations in recent years.
