Canines are much better pets than felines: Cats VS Dogs

(Post Voting Period) In the past, I have done such serious debates, but now it is time for a laid back one.

Round 1: Opening argument

Round 2: Retaliation argument

Round 3: Conclusion and additional persuasion.

You have to be 26 or younger to accept this debate. I'm 14 years of age, so that's fair. In this kind of debate, anyways.==============================================

This dispute has been going on since a nameless ancient person said that dogs were better than cats.

That person must have been assassinated the following day.

I bring you this debate to put that person's diseased soul to rest by doing this debate.

Being a dog person, I will defend my claim by stating that dogs are much more loyal than cats and are friendly and "communicate" with their owners. Cats, however, do nothing for or with their respective humans.

The best of luck to you, semi-nameless friend.

Everything all beings do is selfish in a cosmic sort of way.

(Post Voting Period) If you've ever seen a factory billowing smoke about, then you'll think of pollution, something being made for the sake of mankind, or you won't care. If you don't care, you're not being selfish. If you think of it as for the sake of mankind, you're being reasonably selfish. If you think about pollution, you're thinking about someone else being selfish and not caring about the world. Before you say this, saving someone's life is a selfish thing to do. Yelling for help is a selfish thing to do. Not taking any heed is not selfish. There is no such thing as selflessness. If you're thinking the correct way, then you should know that the only thing that is not selfish in this world is the world itsself. If you wish to save someone's life, you think of that life as value and WANT to keep it in existance. That is just like wanting to keep something you like clean. If you yell for help when trapped, about to die, etc. then you simply WANT to remain with your life as a p

Abortion should be illegal, except in extenuating circumstances

(Post Voting Period) Abortion should be illegal, except in circumstances where the birth of the child would put the mother's health at risk or the child is a result of a rape.

If the argument is that a girl/woman shouldn't have to carry to full term if she doesn't want to, then she should take greater precautions during sex and take responsibility for her actions. What about contraceptives? Condoms? If two people want to have sex, then they must be prepared for the potential results of their actions.

If she doesn't want to keep the child, then put the child up for adoption. There are thousands of perfectly qualified couples out there that are waiting to adopt a child.

People will argue that the death penalty is wrong because it's murder, but abortion is okay. A fetus's heart starts beating at just 3 weeks and 1 day (http://www.ehd.org/dev_article_unit4.php), so how is THAT not a person?

If the mother's health is not at risk and the pregnancy is not a result of a rape
