(Voting Period) Ok, since I can't think of a topic, and based on ideological lines, you, Xera are somewhat close to me, except on a few issues. Therefore, I will let you pick the topic. Plz let it center around politics, or philosophy. You seem like a very good debater, and I believe I've debated your daughter. So, ty, if you do indeed take my challenge. Good luck also. I look forward to an excellent debate. If needed, you can look on my issues part of my profile if u need to see my stances.

*I purposely did 4 rounds so you can tell me what topic u want, then on the 2nd round we can state our arguments, and your 1st rebuttal.

Thank you Xera

Should teens that commit crimes have their parents charged too?

(Voting Period) It is the parent responsibility to control their children. The parent should have taught their teen NOT to commit the crime.

In the United States, prostitution should be legal.

(Voting Period) In the United States Prostitution should be legal. There are three main reasons I have for making this claim:

1) Our government should not be allowed to dictate a persons motivations for engaging in intercourse.

2) People in American society should have the right to do anything they wish to do, so long as no other person is harmed. Excepting harms caused solely by the existence of the laws prohibiting prostitution, no person is being harmed by the practice of prostitution.

3) Laws regarding prostitution have no basis other than religion. Our Supreme Court has ruled, and our Constitution states, that religion and government should never mix. Therefore laws regarding prostitution, should not exist.

Using a crucifix as a symbol of faith is idolatry

(Post Voting Period) To begin I will provide a framework in which I am requesting this debate:

I prefer to avoid semantic debates. Please only take this debate if you are willing to seriously argue that using a crucifix as a symbol of faith is not idolatry. I have no wish to debate the relevance of religion.

Definition of idolatry: Princeton.edu

the worship of idols

Worship: dictionary.com

adoring reverence or regard

My argument is simple. When one uses a crucifix as a physical symbol of faith, that person is practicing idolatry by using the idol (crucifix) as the focus of the reverence. When a Christian grabs his / her crucifix necklace to gain comfort in times of trial, he or she is in effect worshiping the crucifix, thereby practicing idolatry.

To beleive in immortality is to fear death.

(Voting Period) I would first like to say that this is my first debate on this site. I hope there are those out there that meet my instigation with mindful inquiry. Who knows, maybe I'll think differently in the end.

To beleive in everlasting life is to provide an alternative for death, or to create an extension of life after death. Since death is a proven and inevitable fact, and everlasting life is a conception, to beleive in immortality is to be in denial. denial is to be afraid to face something in such a manner that it is shut out or explained or assured with such examples as immortality. Denial is an extension of fear. I finish a statement with a quote from Mr. Durden himself. "On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everything drops to zero."

Open for business, fellas

humanity will exist as a predominant species in the next 501 years??

(Voting Period) The Human race is flawed in many obvious ways.
I will begin the argument with this approach

-It seems to diminish logic and reason all too often for it's better.
By doing this humans take in account only how their lives would be affected by such actions at the very moment of thought.
Even though humans realize this as truth this is still practiced and is considered human nature.

With that i will like to add in consideration the current state of humanity:
We are governed in a way which is barbaric as ideology of any orthodox rule has been.
Our Governments ( i am talking about every "seprate" government in our little blue earth)is run through the power of the all mighty dallor.
There is no actual freedom of choice for the people of this world. There is only an allusion, this propaganda is run only by the rich of this world. The politicians the "peace keepers" have close to no say in all the major decisions that take part on our earth. Money can overpo

Should the death penalty be continued?

(Voting Period) People must be propely and fairly punished for their crimes. For example, if a forty year old murdered somebosy, then he or she should be hung. But if a child murdered someone, then the child should be flogged.
