(Post Voting Period)

Batman could win from Spiderman if they had a fight. The player has lost when he's unable to fight due to damage taken from his opponent.

We use comics and movies as resources.

Round one: acceptance
Round two: arguments
Round three: rebuttals
Round four: rebuttals + closing argument.

Atheist can't have objective morals.

(Post Voting Period) First I need to clarify that atheists can be morally good. They can even be people of integrity. But that isn't the issue. Having good morals doesn't mean you have objective morals. One atheist's good morals might only be coincidentally consistent with true objective morality where another atheist's isn't.

Objective morals are those that are based outside of yourself. Subjective morals are those that depend on you, your situation, culture, and your preferences. Subjective morals change, can become contradictory, and might differ from person to person. This is the best that atheism has to offer us as a worldview.

In an atheistic worldview, lying, cheating, and stealing are neither right or wrong. They are phenomena to which, if the atheist so decides, moral values can be assigned. Sure, the atheist might say that we all should want to help society function properly and it does not benefit society as a whole to lie, cheat, and steal. But, this is weak int

Euthanasia - Right or wrong?

(Post Voting Period) I am a strong believer that Euthanasia, no matter what the circumstances, is wrong. Killing someone just because of the suffrage they are facing, does not enable doctors or surgeons to take it into their own hands to "take the pain away" or to kill them.

Peace and free will can't go together.

(Post Voting Period) I saw this subject in Assassin's Creed, and I think it's very interesting. The templars fought for peace and the assassin's for free will since the templars were planning to brainwash the whole society because they can't believe people with free minds can live together in peace.
I agree since I think people will always have different opinions and will always be willing to fight over them. Proof is the religious wars all over the world. I also think free will is more important than peace, since I personally don't want to live in a world where we have to keep our mouth shut about everything so things will all go nice and easy.
I'm a new member, so try to go easy on me. I think this is more of an opinion topic than facts.

Favourite/Best Villain

(Post Voting Period) Hi! This is not actually a debate per se, it's more of pro making his argument of who his best villain is and why? (Comics, TV-Shows, Films, Video-Games, Anime etc.). It's for a school project, I'm going to make a list of favorite villains (I choose subject myself) and I'm just wondering what someone who knows a thing or two about this on this site thinks. You can also tell about more than one villain... Well it's only one round so just tell me who you think... I'm new at this site so please tell me if I'm doing anything wrong, and excuse my english, It's not my native language, hope you get the whole picture anyways. You don't have to vote, because I'm not going to debate against pro at all. Thanks :)

Batman > Spiderman

(Post Voting Period)
Batman is a greater hero than Spiderman, easy.

I'll try to convince con that Batman can take on Spiderman any time. Con has to convince Batman can't win from Spiderman. Use movies/comics/games as sources and please link those.

Round 1: acceptance

Round 2: arguments

Round 3: Rebuttals

Round 4: Rebuttals/ closing arguments

Can you have a connection with a nonhuman living thing?

(Post Voting Period) Can you have a connection with a nonhuman being?

My answer is yes absolutely.
I believe that you can have a connection with a nonhuman living thing because certain things become sentimental to us. For example, a phone, a house, a tree, a flower or a note. These all have meaning to me in my life and if that nonhuman living thing is destroyed or taking away from me I could feel the emotions of unhappy, stressed or a feeling of something missing in my life.

I can put a positive spin on any situation

(Post Voting Period)
I will be debating that I can put a positive spin on any situation, meaning that I can point out a positive, no matter how trivial. The con will be presenting me with situations (they cant be more than two lines) and I will point out the positive in each one.
RULES:
1. The situations which Con presents cannot be more than two lines long.
2. The situations con presents can be self-tailored or can be more abstract, eg: War, famine.
3. In the case of abstract cases (like stated above) the pro has the right to create hypothetical situations surrounding them.
4. The con cannot simply write, as a situation: "A situation that has no positives whatsoever", or anything along those lines.
5. The con cannot take what the pro has written and futher tailor it in future rounds. Example: Con says "homework" and then pro says "It helps kids learn", con CANNOT say in a future round, "homework that doesn't make kids learn". Basicall

Cats Are Better Than Dogs

(Post Voting Period) I believe that cats are way better then dogs. They are the most independent, smartest domesticated animals we have ever seen. Dogs are so dependent upon their master for everything that it is hard for them to function without them. Cats on the other hand can be left alone with food and water without their owner for days and still be able to survive and not get themselves hurt.

The chicken came first

(Post Voting Period) The chicken came first for many reasons. First is the new research by scientist at Sheffield and Warwick University. Another reason is that theology tells you that god created all the birds first and blessed them with eggs, how you define eggs and how the chickens came around.
