Mac computers are better than PC's

(Post Voting Period) Before starting my argument, let me clarify. By Mac computers, I mean computers with the Leopard or Snow Leopard operating system (10.5, 10.5.5, or 10.5.6). By PC's, I simply mean computers with Windows XP, Windows, Vista, or Windows 7.

Also, I would like to thank my future opponent and wish him good luck.

There are many advantages that Mac users can enjoy over PC users. Listed below are a few of them:

1. Macs are designed with "security in mind". Mac OSX is not affected by the myriad of computer viruses out there, such as Conflicker. Thus, there is no need for security alerts and sweeps, leading to a more productive work or play time.

2. Mac OSX is always up-to-date. This is because OSX comes with an automatic software update. This shows updates to any included Apple software and automatically downloads them. This saves you (the user) the trouble of updating the software. In a sense, Macs get better with age.

3. Mac OSX have email and chat pr

God exists.

(Post Voting Period) **DISCLAIMER**

I have not debated on this site in over a year. I'm an NOT up with the times on DDO. I have not yet taken the time to dive into the Religion forum and get mixed into the fray that exists there.

However. I do know how to debate.

Ok so I want to talk about God. More specifically the JudeoChristian God. I'm against his existence. I do not believe he doesn't exist. I just don't think he does. I find it difficult to believe that He does, but I don't believe that he doesn't.

My opponent will ideally be a:
rational thinker.

That's it. Lets not talk semantics, but actually just talk about the topic.

Round one: introductions and what not. The other side uses round one to accept the stuff in the intro and to present his opening argument.

Round two is debating.
Round 3 is debating
Round 4 is closing statements and what not. I'd appreciate it if Pro didn't do arguing this round, and did his closing in round 3, to correct skew.

(Voting Period) I affirm the resolution: It is morally permissible to kill one in order to save others

To clarify this case I will use the following definition:

Morally permissible: that act of judging in a circumstance to conform the right behavior
Kill: To take way one's life; cause death
Innocent: free from evil motives or moral wrongs
Happiness: absence of pain and up bearings
Save: to rescue or prevent harm or injury
Society: a highly structured human organization upheld by hierarchy which furbishes protection, security, and national identity for its members.

Value: The Welfare of Society
My value is the welfare of the society. For the better of the society, which supports people as individuals, it is important to ensure the prosperity of it.

Value Criterion: High value of Life
My value criterion is the protection of lives. For society to continue, it is important to protect the people. It also ensures the wellbeing of society. Without the high value

(Voting Period) First off I am a novice ld debater and i need practice so another ld debater would be great. So lets get started.
It is morally permissible to kill one innocent person to save the lives of many innocent. First i will start with some definitions. All definitions are from www.thefreedictionary.com.

It should be legal for non-religious homosexuals to marry people of the same gender.

(Post Voting Period) Ok, I'm just going to start my debate, and hope you all vote on the arguments, not the debaters of these rounds. Thank you.

Before I state my arguments, I feel compelled to state a little context over which this debate will be held. I'll start by defining the topic using Merriam Webster:
LEGAL:
1: of or relating to law
2 a: deriving authority from or founded on law : de jure b: having a formal status derived from law often without a basis in actual fact : titular <a corporation is a legal but not a real person> c: established by law ; especially : statutory
3: conforming to or permitted by law or established rules
4: recognized or made effective by a court of law as distinguished from a court of equity
5: of, relating to, or having the characteristics of the profession of law or of one of its members
6: created by the constructions of the law <a legal fiction>

NON-RELIGIOUS: take the following definition and use the opposite
1: relating to or mani

Assisted Suicide can be morally justified in most cases.

(Post Voting Period) Ok, I'm just going to launch straight into the debate, and hope that you all vote in terms of the debates themselves, and not the debaters.

Before I start my arguments, I just want to define the topic, just so that we are all clear about what we are debating.
I'm going to define Assisted Suicide as a direct action taken to terminate someone's life at his or her request, usually by some painless means. Usually, the patient is unable to kill him/herself, so he/she asks someone else to do it for them. And the person killing the patient has the permission of the patient.

Now to my arguments:
1. People have the right to control their lives. We, an outside force, do not. It would be wrong of us to tell someone they cannot do something to themselves. If for whatever reason that person doesn't want to live anymore, we do not have the moral right to stop them. We can pursuade them to think about it, and make sure they are sure about it, but we cannot say, "No, y

Term Limits

(Voting Period) Thanks to my opponent for the debate. This debate shall be about Term Limits in the United States. More specifically, Presidential Term Limits in the United States. I am against them, and my opponent is in favor of them. Restated the topic is this:
Presidential Term Limits in the United States should not be used.

We all know who the President is. We all know what term limits are. They are: 2 terms of 4 years. We all know what the US is.

Some rules:
These rules cannot be broken, or else my opponent forfeits the debate. He is free to suggest some of his own, but they are only in effect after I say ok.

1. No semantics. We all know what we are talking about. No arguing in the words. Just argument vs. argument.

2. We both have burden of proof. You have to prove that we should have term limits. I have to prove that we should not.

3. No arguing in the comments section, during the debate, and after the debate.

4. This round is not to be used for deb

World Peace

(Voting Period) Whom have not thought of a world, united under one Banner, where people seek only the future and technology, no need for violence, no need for any arms. But what is the cost of peace, War. How can we Achieve peace? Some will go against such peace and try to destroy it, should we annihialate all those whom stand against peace?, Should we just Smash through every single nation that doesnt wish to be united and to be in a Union?
I believe that in this world, in these momments right now we need peace more than anything, we need unity to be able to survive, we have: A worlwide Economic crisis, more than 32 wars going on in the world, A war every single decade making millions suffer, Wars for religious causes or for economic gain, Hunger, Disease, and inhuman genocide in some nations.
Now some say there shouldnt be unity, i say that a person who have not seen the horror of war, the horrors of this world, does not wish for unity, for they are selfish.

The United States ought to submit to an international court designed to prosecute crimes against hum

(Post Voting Period) I affirm:
The United States ought to submit to the jurisdiction of an international court designed to prosecute crimes against humanity.
Now some definitions:
Webster-dictionary defines ought as: to be bound in duty or by moral obligation.
Merriam-Webster defines to submit as: to yield oneself to the authority or will of another.
The term crimes against humanity has come to mean anything atrocious committed on a large scale. This is not, however, the original meaning nor the technical one.
In 1945, the United States and other Allies developed the Agreement for the Prosecution and Punishment of the Major War Criminals of the European Axis and Charter of the International Military Tribunal (IMT), which contained the following definition of crimes against humanity in Article 6(c):
Crimes against humanity: murder, extermination, enslavement, and other inhumane acts committed against civilian populations, before or during the war; or persecutions on politi
