U.S presidents should be able to serve more than two terms

(Post Voting Period) Presidents should be able to serve more than two term in office, and have the right to run again after serving two terms to become President again. The twenty-second Amendment, states " No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once." Why? It is understandable that America does not want to open the doors of the possibility of becoming a monarchy. However, being a democracy and continuing to utilize our rights to vote we can still remain as such by voting who we want to be in office or to stay in office. Keep in mind that we as a country have already allowed Woodrow Wilson to be elected FOUR terms, though he was only able to serve THREE. Why allow a President that is doing well for our country, and that would win a re

Anti-bullying laws are a bit too much!

(Post Voting Period) A six year old child calls another child ugly. Should this child be charged with bullying? I would say absolutely NOT! So where do we draw the line with the anti-bullying law? Who decide what exactly can be considered bullying? I believe that our society has forgotten how to teach our children to love themselves despite what someone else might say! It is a shame that children are taking their lives because someone is bullying them. The recent rise in adolescence suicide is evidence of this. I believe that these issues are solely based on a child's self-esteem. I think the responsibility lies on the parents to teach their children how to love themselves. It is silly that simple childhood name calling can cause a child to be arrested. What happened to the old saying of teaching a child to have "tough skin?" No, instead we blame the school and everyone else for not protecting the child. Children need to be taught how to have high self-esteem. We have become a gene

There will always be racism

(Post Voting Period) Though the Civil Right Act was passed forty eight years ago, there is clearly still racial discrimination, and racism not only within the United States of America but in the world. Some may argue we have come a long way, and I concur. However, even though there are not public lynching of Black men, segregation of public places, and crosses burning on "colored" yards, racism is far from over and never will be. In 1964 the Public Law Bill, forbade discrimination on the basis of sex as well as race in hiring, promoting, and firing (1). Over four decades later a study by labor economists and human resource specialists, found that black women are less likely to be promoted than males and white women (2). The word racism is not only defined as a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others, but also as

Cigarettes should be illegal

(Post Voting Period) First let me be clear, this is not a debate on marijuana being safer than cigarettes I use marijuana as a comparison throughout the debate since its a drug that is currently illegal. There are so many things in our lives that the government put restrictions on and deem as illegal that are not as hazardous to our lives as smoking. There are many laws, and crack down on the use of marijuana as a dangerous drug that leads to bad behavior, bad habits, and even death. We have a rating system that limit how much violence, sexual content, and verbal language can be shown within a certain movie or television show that is being viewed by members of a certain age group. It is illegal to drink liquor in public, and those that do can be faced with fines and even jail time. Though marijuana leads to circumstances that can lead to death, just as getting high and driving, smoking a cigarette does not need a second step to cause death, the act alone can lead to it. It is a fac
