Fox News is not only Bias, but Deceitful

(Voting Period) deceitful: having a tendency or disposition to deceive: a: not honest, b: deceptive, misleading (http://www.merriam-webster.com/)

I hope that whoever accepts this debate will accept the fact that Fox News is bias to the right-wing. This debate is not about MSNBC, CNN, ABC, ect. Fox is the network on trial here, and I wish to refrain from bringing in other networks to this discussion.

This debate is only seeking an answer to the question "Is Fox News a deceitful source for 'news'?"

To start off, I will assume my opponent recognizes that Fox news is in fact bias, so my first example of deceit will be the very slogan of Fox News itself:
Fair and Balanced.

How can a bias news network actually tell their viewers that their news is totally fair. Balanced? Fox News gives both sides to every issue; George Bushs' and Dick Cheneys'. You can fair and biased at the same time. Imagine if Air Americas slogan was: Non partisan Talk and Both-Sided Hosts.

Fox news

(Voting Period) Fox news is the most biased, manipulative and corrupted news channel out there. Matter in fact, FNC has such a bad reputation that even FAIR (Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting) and Media Matters has deemed them to be the most biased name in news. http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=1067

The president of the FNC is none other than Roger Ailes who severed as a political consultant for man republican candidates during the 1960's, 70's, and 80's including Richard M. Nixon, and Ronald Reagan. Roger was placed in charge of Fox by a very conservative man by the name of Rupert Murdoch who had a child like love for Ronald Reagan. But enough with the background information, let me show you some of the overwhelming physical evidence of Fox News's countless tyranny of providing unfair and unbalanced news to the American people.

Obama's decision to not appear on Fox News was the beneficial decision to his presidency.

(Post Voting Period) President Obama has decided not to appear on Fox News or give them any interviews for the time being. His reasons include the fact that Fox News is a right-wing, manipulative and biased news source, and one that frequently insults him by flat out calling him a racist amongst other lies. Many people agree with Obama in his decision not to appear on Fox News; they don't see how it could possibly do him or the public any good, since he will be straw manned anyway. However, I posit that it was a bad decision in terms of political strategy, damaging to his reputation, a biased and unfair decision in itself, and a decision that ultimately does more harm for his candidacy than good. My opponent who accepts this debate will be defending the view that Obama's decision in this regard was the right one. I welcome any questions/clarifications from my opponent in the first round, and will begin listing my contentions in R2. Good luck.

The mainstream media has a liberal bias

(Post Voting Period) I have explained this debate topic before in an earlier debate which my opponent was not taking seriously. I will briefly explain it once more and allow my opponent to post his or her arguments first.

"Mainstream media" is defined for this debate as the news sources from which the majority of Americans get their news, including printed sources, Cable/TV News, Radio, and the Internet.

"Liberal bias" will be defined as a tendency to present news stories with the agenda of elevating policies or stances that are conventionally called liberal. This may be in the form of excluding or distorting information to serve this goal, as well as devoting time to certain issues or politicians unevenly.

Taking the Con stance, I will argue that the mainstream media does not have a liberal bias, or at least that any liberal biases it exhibits do not overcompensate for any conservative biases it exhibits. My opponent will presumably argue that liberal bias in the media do

FNC (Fox News) showed Obama's address to Congress about his supposed health care plan

(Post Voting Period) I have heard many uninformed liberals claim that FNC [1] did not show Obama's address to Congress that was supposed to be regarding his health care plan. This is a blatant lie. I would like anybody who believes that FNC didn't cover it to accept this debate and show that they didn't.

Amanda Knox is more likely innocent than guilty

(Voting Period) The evidence that places Amanda (AK) at the crime scene (specifically Meredith's bedroom) is the so-called double DNA knife. The Conti-Vecchiotti Report ordered by Judge Hellman introduces reasonable doubt as to the reliability of this evidence which means that AK cannot be definitively placed at the crime scene. If she was not at the crime scene during the murder, she could NOT have committed murder.

is drug selling is legal or illegal

(Post Voting Period) Illegal drugs are drugs which are controlled by the government and are illegal in certain situations (a person is not allowed to have them). A drug is any chemical designed to affect the human body. A psychoactive drug is a drug that affects the brain. Some controlled drugs are allowed if you have permission (called a "prescription") from a doctor. Other drugs are illegal - meaning you are never allowed to have them. Alcohol, caffeine (coffee), nicotine (tobacco), aspirin and acetaminophen/paracetamol (Tylenol) are all drugs.

"The U.S. system of presidential primaries are contrary to democratic values"

(Voting Period) system of presidential primaries is contrary to democratic values.
Presidential Primaries-Of or relating to a president or presidency, A preliminary election in which the registered voters of a political party nominate candidates for office.
Contrary-Opposed, as in character or purpose:
Democratic Values-Are composed of ideals of democracy, which are part of the U.S. Constitution.
Overview 1: What is a presidential primary is a question to be answered? Both major political parties (Democratic and Republican) officially nominate their candidate for President at their respective national conventions, usually held during the summer before the election. Depending on state law and state party rules, when voters cast ballots for a candidate in a presidential caucus or primary, they may actually be voting to award delegates "bound" to vote for a candidate at the state or national convention, or they may simply be expressing an opinion that the state party is not

The Octuplets' Mother

(Post Voting Period) I am sure that you all have heard of Nadya Suleman. The mother of octuplets as well as 6 other kids. This is a debate on the mother's decision to have these 8 children. Is this ethical? She already had 6 children living in the home shared with her parents, a small 3 bedroom home. Suleman chose, with the knowledge that she would need government assistance in order to care for their lives, to have embryos artifically placed into her. Artifical fertilization. Such large births can result tragically. My real point is, what kind of mother would do this to her children?

U.S. Aid to Pakistan should be continued

(Post Voting Period)
The United States has provided more than $20 billion in aid to Pakistan in recent years. Recently a move was made in the Senate to terminate aid, but the cut off was blocked. [1. http://india.nydailynews.com/newsarticle/4fdb7ceab1e35d0936000001/bid-to-cut-off-us-aid-to-pakistan-blocked-by-harry-reid] It's an issue that cuts across Party lines, with prominent Republicans and prominent Democrats on both sides.

The resolution for this debate is that aid should not be terminated in the near future unless entirely new and unforeseen events occur. Some reduction of aid is permitted within the scope of the resolution, but not a complete termination nor a reduction to significant as to amount to a cut off.

This debate is part of the second round of MIG's Tournament.
Resolved: The Middle East should not be allowed access to the internet

(Post Voting Period) This debate is that the Middle East should not be allowed to have access to the internet because every time the people in the Middle East find something offensive on the internet, they lose their mother f*cking minds and start blowing sh*t up. In the past week alone dozens of Americans have been killed and at least a half dozen embassies across the Middle East have been attacked. And what caused all of this outrage? A MOVIE ON THE INTERNET THAT THEY FIND OFFENSIVE.

How the bloody f*ck can we expect a group of people like them (some of which are armed with nukes) to be able to use the internet and not fly off the handle every time they find something offensive? People in the civilized part of the world (civilized = predominantly white) know how to keep their sh*t together when they see something offensive. When the movie "Avatar the Last Airbender" came out did you see Americans start attacking Indian Embassies, Or Pakistani ones, or whichever is the one tha
