do u think that girls can play football on a boys football team?

(Voting Period) i think girls should be able to play football on a boys football team. i think that because girls are just as strong as guys are. Girls are just as fast as boys. so in a matter of fact i believe that girls can do anything that a boy can do.

Should Cliff Lee be the Cy Young winner?

(Voting Period) I affirm that Cliff Lee of the Cleveland Indians should win the Cy Young of 2008.

Reasons:

1.) He had 22 wins and only 3 losses, the best record in the majors by far. The next closest pitcher in the American League was Mike Mussina at 20 wins 9 losses. He started every single one of his 31 games throwing 170 strikeouts in 223.1 innings. His 2.54 ERA was also the best in the MLB.

2.) He was the anchor of the Indians all year even after the loss of C.C Sabathia (The Indians Cy Young Winner of 2007) who went on the go 9 wins 0 losses with the Brewers after the trade. Without Lee the Indians would not have gone 81-81 and ended up ending a pitiful season on somewhat of a good note.

Same Random Facts

Lee didnt lose his first game until May 18th against the Reds. He lost his second game on July 6th against the Twins. His amazing performance Catapulted the Indians out of last place and Eventually into 3rd.

Statistics, Performance Enhancing Drugs, and Major League Baseball.

(Post Voting Period) Abbreviations:

MLB–Major League Baseball.
PED–Performance Enhancing Drug(s).

Definitions:

Performance Enhancing Drug(s)–substances used by athletes to improve their performances in the sports in which they engage. [1] With baseball, this usually refers mainly to anabolic steroids. [2] Thus, in this debate, "steroids" and "PEDs" will be used interchangeably. Hopefully, my opponent does not have a problem with this.

Resolution: The statistics of those Major League Baseball players who, in the late 1990s until 2004, otherwise considered the height of the "Steroid Era" by MLB fan, were known users of PEDs or who were almost certainly using PEDs, should still be held as legitimate in assessing those players' talent relative to other MLB players.

A bit of an introduction: As anyone who has any interest in MLB may know, artificial performance enhancement through PEDs has become a huge issue in the last decade or so, mainly because of the huge home run

Dogs Pinch Running in Baseball.

(Post Voting Period) It's about time we all got over ourselves and allow canines to suit up for MLB games; dogs ought to be allowed to pinch run for a human player.

As long as he/she is vaccinated, domesticated, and willing to participate, it would add an entire new element to the game that is unprecedented in professional sports. We aren't just a human race -- but an entire population of organisms living together in unison; allowing animals to compete in MLB games may finally bring that fact to light.

They couldn't bat, pitch, or play defense, but they would compensate for it on the bases, where they can run significantly faster than your quickest human player.

The chess match between managers would be entertainment at it's finest. Picture a late inning scenario in which one manager has a Persian Greyhound on the bench eagerly awaiting the opportunity to swipe second, third, and possibly home, while the opposing manager is weighing his options of pitching to the #4 hole

Should girls be able to play football?

(Post Voting Period) I believe that girls should be allowed to play on football teams. Girls are just as strong as guys and stronger than them in some areas. Girls can take a hit just like a guy can. The only reason We are not allowed to is because of the stereotype that all girls are weak. Coaches can be very sexist in not allowing girls to play boy sports.

Chess, with additional tournament rules, should be an Olympic sport.

(Voting Period) The game of chess, with a few additional tournament rules, should be an Olympic sport.

Introduction:
Chess is unlike many games played. The element of chance does not exist. No dice rolls, no hidden cards, just the pieces in the same starting position every time. Any lost position is the fault of the player, not a lucky dice roll, or malfunctioning equipment. In addition, no absolute win has been found. The starting player does not have a set of moves that guarantee victory.

Concessions:
1. I fully agree the Olympic committee has rejected "mind games" from contention for Olympic sports. They are mistaken, but I know this has come up in the past. http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1827716,00.html

2. I am fully aware that a Chess Olympiad takes place outside of the official Olympic Games. This resolution deals with the official Olympics Games, not the separate Olympiad.

Additional Rules:
1.	Once the first piece is moved, neither pl

(Post Voting Period) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_NBA_Finals

I set the voting period to 3 days and the time to argue to 24 hours so that the voters will hopefully not be distracted by the actual results of the series too much.

To the voters: if voting does not end before the series starts (June 4) then please vote based on the best arguments, not on how the series has played out.

To my opponent: just accept the debate in the first round. Do not make any arguments until the second round.

Thank you and good luck to whomever accepts the debate, it should be fun.

Who owns the NUMBER??

(Post Voting Period) I am the commissioner of my works softball team. A players comes to me and decides to pick #34 before the jersey's arrive. I put his name down for #34. About an hour later a fellow named Mike comes to me and requests #34. I inform him that Nick has already requested that number. Mike then requests #32. At that time Nick comes into my office with Mike there and tells MIKE he will trade his number to MIKE for a case of BECKS BEER.

Mike Agrees to this trade. So Mike has number #34, and Nick now has #32.

Later that day I found out that the last numbered jersey will be #33. Not #34. I inform both parties of this, Mike now wants #32 back. But NICK OWNS THE NUMBER.

Peyton Manning is an overall better quarterback than Tom Brady

(Voting Period) Peyton has 2 regular season MVP's and Brady has none. Although Brady is, i'll admit, playing amazing football now, over their careers, Peyton is an overall better quarterback. Also, Peyton currently still holds the record for most touchdowns in a season, and his team didn't have to run up the score for him to acheive this record.

Is Cheerleading A Sport?

Well if you think about, cheerleaders throw people up in the air! Last time I checked, lots of people could NOT hold, and throw people up in the air.

Now about the competition thing. Well, I mean you have to be stupid to not know that there is competition cheerleading.

And this is my 1st opening argument!
