Illegal Immigration: Should we deport all illegal immigrants we find in the U.S.

(Voting Period) Hello, I am sorry that I was too busy to reply previously. Please allow this debate to continue, by accepting my challenge to start it again from where we left off.
To the spectators, this is the continuation of a debate that was forfeited due to lack of time. Please vote based on that debate also. For reference it is here:

When I said that they "benefit society more than they damage it" I was referring to what would happen if they were not here. Your account of 16 billion a year was ignoring the jobs and services they fill all across this nation. Financially, they probably do more damage, but when discussing "society" it is referring to a lot of things.

If all of the illegal immigrants that make up 5% of the American population were gone tomorrow, accordingly about 5% of jobs would be left empty tomorrow. All of these niches would be UNF

Illegal immigration is endangering and destroying American safety, finances, education, and culture.

(Voting Period) The invasion of the United States by illegal aliens, primarily over our southern borders, imperils the country's financial, educational, and medical institutions, our environmental quality, and in fact, the very culture of the United States.

For years, the willful misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which was originally written so that children of slaves freed after the Civil War would be considered citizens but now taken to mean that anyone who runs into the US and gives birth has created an instant citizen, has created havoc. These children, termed "anchor babies," – another current term for these children is "jackpot babies" – are called this because once a baby is born, it needs parents to support it, and thus becomes the "anchor" for an unending stream of relatives streaming into the country to keep this "citizen" alive.

This was never the intent of the 14th Amendment, as noted, as clarified by Senator Jacob Howard (one

Illegal Immigration

(Voting Period) I'm ready for another debate against someone that views illegal immigration as a "positive" thing for America. Let me state this clearly, I am pro-immigration but anti-illegal immigration.

I'm a born and raised Texan and I can debate this topic all day long. I've been around illegals all my life and I know the economic impact that comes with illegal immigrants.

The U.S. needs to clamp down on illegal immigration

(Post Voting Period) The subject of this post is:
<strong>The U.S. needs to clamp down on illegal immigration</strong>.

I, the <em>instigator</em>, am <strong>taking the <em>con</em> side of this discussion</strong>. That is, I will be arguing against the notion that "The U.S. needs to clamp down on illegal immigration."

This debate is open to any challenger to accept the "<em>Pro</em>" side of the debate, upon whose shoulders rests the burden of proof to establish that the U.S. needs to clamp down on illegal immigration.
===
My argument begins with some stipulations:
I will not argue against gang members and other violent offenders committing such acts within the U.S., but I argue that these are in a much smaller minority than are emphasized by the likes of "Lou Dobbs" of CNN, and over-emphasis distorting that exaggerates the image I will call out as xenophobic and racist.

I believe the laws against "illegal immigration" are wrong for the following reasons:

Illegal Immigration

(Voting Period) I hear people saying illegal immigration helps our economy. I however, have to disagree with that.
These are some facts about illegal aliens:

- The cost of illegals in K-12 grades is over 13 billion and growing every second.

- There are over 21 million illegal aliens in this country.

- There are over 4 million children of illegals in public schools.

- There are 667,781 illegal immigrant fugitives.

- There are 355,077 illegal immigrants incarcerated. The cost of these incarcerations is over 1 billion.

http://immigrationcounters.com/

Another problem is illegal immigrants pay no or very little taxes. Here are some facts:

- Most illegal aliens do not receive a typical paycheck with tax deductions. Instead they are paid in cash and do not pay taxes. Even when they do pay taxes (only possible if they use fraudulent social security numbers or government assigned ID tax numbers)their little income is not enough to pay for the medical expenses

Illegal Immigration

(Voting Period) Whether it's through the underground tunnels from Mexico to Arizona or the ocean trek from Cuba to Florida, illegal immigration happens and should be stopped.

There is a reason why we have a thorough process to issue an immigrant his/her U.S. citizenship.

Everyone can relate and understand analogies, or so I hope, so that's where I'll start.

We all have stood in line at a grocery store, gas station, etc. and we know what it feels like to wait for our turn to pay-out. Sometimes the line is short and sometimes it's long. Regardless, we all know how to wait for our turn. Now, tell me how you'd feel if someone cut right in front of you while you are waiting in line? You wouldn't like it. Illegal immigrants do the same thing but on a much larger scale. They blatantly ignore the laws that we have set to protect our country. You may argue that a large number of illegals are fleeing to the U.S. in search of jobs and you would be correct. But, by being sympath

The U.S. should build a fence on its southern border in order to reduce illegal immigration.

(Voting Period) I think a border fence would be excellent in keeping illegals out of the U.S. There are already several cities in the U.S. where fences are put up (San Diego, Nogales, El Paso.) All have reduced illegal immigration. The problem is we don't have enough Border Patrol and a fence on the southern border would help immensely. Here are my reasons:

1. The fence will be hard to penetrate.
This is a main controversy of the...anti-border fence people. What good is 6-foot high chicken wire? Well first, it is cost effective. And any fence no matter how high can be climbed over. And the secret would be to guard the fence with cameras that cover the entire border. The fence slows them down and they get details on camera. Also it will be covered with barbed wire that's 3 inches apart which is harder to penetrate than normal. If the wire is cut a sensor will go off alerting the Border Patrol increasing the likelihood of arrest. Its also easy to fix. The DOI (Department of

Immigration Should Be Illegal in the United States

(Post Voting Period) Immigration can cause international problems. In this process, countries get upset with the decreasing of their population. Also, the United States can not support the people, especially with the economy so bad they just can not seem to get a job. Then, they are homeless and starve. They cause more robberies and people to get mugged for survival. Immigration can again cause international problems, which can lead to terrorists attacks, such as September 9, 2001. This is a problem leading to the economy. Also, pressure to congress and President Obama in an attack. This is not the "greatest" time to be attacked. With troops in Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan the U.S. just can not afford to much off an attack back. If we leave Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan they will just say," Oh, it looks as if we won the war over America. Let's take over America!" Before we now it, we are being attacked very often. That is why I think immigration should be illegal in the United States

Stopping Illegal Immigration

(Voting Period) In America right now there are aproximately 12 million illegal immigrants. Now my posistion on this topic is that there should be some sort of military force guarding our borders rather than a bunch of volunteers called the Border Patrol. If we had some National Guard troops or active Army troops on the border Illegal Immigration will almost drop to zero. Our Boder Patrol is tired, civilians, and they just can't get the job done with the limited resources they have.

T.J. Bonner of the National Border Patrol said
" As of right now we are working 3 shifts a day, 7 days a week and are simply overwhelmed"

And thats exactly why we need to take this immigration problem into consideration and this is probably one of the top five problems we face in America today!

The solution to illegal immigration requires enforcement of our current laws

(Voting Period) Some argue that the status quo is de facto amnesty because it is extremely impractical to round up at least 12 million illegal immigrants and deport them. Those who say that are right as far as their reason, but off in saying that the status quo is de facto amnesty. Here's what we could do to solve the problem, and it would require nothing more than modest enforcement of our current laws:

1. Finish the fence across the whole border
2. Beef up manpower security at the border
3. Deport those we happen upon through law enforcement and social services
4. Enforce sanctions against employers who hire illegal immigrants as vigorously as we enforce all our other labor laws

Illegal immigration

(Post Voting Period) Most pople in developing countries wants to immigrate to the US or Europe for searching good life. They do anything to stay there or try take citizenship. Whether illegal immigration is good or bad. Some people say that illegal immigration is a crime, because they cant find good employment and trying to find easy money. However, illegal immigration has more advantages than disadvantages.
Illegal immigration benefits the US economy through additional tax revenue, expansion of the low-cost labor pool, and increased money in circulation. They contend that immigrants bring good values, have motivations consistent with the American dream, perform jobs that Americans won't take, and that opposition to immigration stems from racism.

America needs to crack down on illegal immigration.

(Voting Period) Here are the negatives of illegal immigration. I would like my opponent to say the positives.
-Costs taxpayers millions in healthcare each year. When an injured illegal immigrant comes in and receives medical care, it is on the taxpayer dollars.
-Costs California an increased tax to have translators for hospitals because of the large amount of spanish-only speaking people who called.
-Takes jobs away from hardworking americans.
I'll name more in my next arguement.

Illegal Immigration

(Voting Period) First off, let me just say that I am not "pro-illegal immigration" in the sense that I support people moving here without documentation. Rather, I am for reform that encourages immigration and does not intimidate those who want to better themselves and thier lives.

As an Arizonan, I am right at the center of the illegal immigration debate. I have gotten to know some of the people whom have immigrated here both legally and illegally. In my experience, I have found that immigrants of all kinds, not just Mexicans, enrich our society and benefit all involved. They are here to feed their families, not to steal our jobs or to bring crime into our country. I find it ridiculous that people want to make it impossible for people to come here. I mean, if someone is breaking the law by being here illegally, then they deserve to be dealt with accordingly. But it takes so long to gain citizenship now, that they really have no choice. Why not reform the laws to make citize

illegal immigration and outsourcing: practically similar

(Voting Period) it's ironic some of the conservatives who push keeping foreigners out, yet want outsourcing to go next to unhindered.

now, foreginers are often not able to talk english and wouldn't be able to contribute but would be on the welfare etc. but, that's a very minor phenomenon as most have jobs etc. plus, if your reasons are for protecting about that stuff, what about those who are intelligent and smart, why can't they just come as they wish and not jump through years of hoops?

the real reason, it seems, that we don't want them, is because their mass numbers would dillute our economy. people would be willing to work for beans, and so that's what employers would pay. the citizens of the US naturally would not be able to partake of its natural bounty, because the infinite labor that would enter would force very poor working conditions.

so, on the one hand many conservatives are against that, but then go and push outsourcing without restriction, which means t

Illegal immigration is bad

(Post Voting Period) Illegal immigrants are detrimental to our society because they hurt our economy and take jobs. They cost the federal government a lot of money each year. They also take jobs away from American workers.
Because of their sheer numbers illegal immigrants put a great strain on the American economy. It costs the government billions of dollars a year to house these illegal immigrants, and because they don't pay taxes we never get a single cent of that money returned to our government. They also cost around 200 billion dollars a year in depressed wages. Another thing is that many illegal immigrants end up in prisons, around 30% of all the inmates in prisons are illegal immigrants. Because of those reasons and others illegal immigrants are hurtful to the U.S. economy.
Illegal immigrants take jobs away from low skilled American workers. They will work for less pay and little to no benefits which incentives employers to hire them since it will save the company money
