Should we put a ban to animal testing?

(Voting Period) I am con against Animal testing because as a human we have freedom and choice. Also animals have the right to live, and the right to choose. But is it right to take the freedom or the life of animals just because we want to research and test new medicines? NO. It's not right to kill and make them suffer just for our own benefit. Animals have emotions. They have thoughts, ideas, feelings. They also suffer. If we just kill and make them suffer, we are taking the freedom and the life of other animals. Remember that animals are living creatures as we are. That is why we should Ban animal testing!!

(Post Voting Period) Many people die a slow death because the law is against Euthanasia, but why? Why is it so bad if thousands of people beg for it and even go to the courts for the right to die? It is a personal choice and it needs to be made legal.

Non-GMO Food is more Beneficial to Society than GMO Food

Abortion is a mother's right.

(Post Voting Period) It should be the prerogative of the mother to have a fetus or embryo aborted, since it is not a child, but an extension of her own body, and remains such until the third trimester. I challenge anyone to make a valid case for why a mother should not be allowed to have an abortion.

The debate shall be conducted under the following rules:
1. No trolling
2. Ordered, at least to some extent, and civil conduct
3. Legible and comprehensible English
4. No sensationalism; unfounded statements like "A person's a person, no matter how small" are to be avoided.
5. No direct accusation or insults about the opponent's sense of morality; limit such things to insinuations and covert assaults, if founded.
6. Try to reply with expediency, so as to avoid forfeiture of rounds, and thus a boring debate.

Should all Drugs be Legalized in the US

(Post Voting Period) The problem of what substances should be legal or should not be legal has been debated over and over in the past. Firmly, I believe that all drugs in the United States should be legalized.
1. Firstly we must recall the main argument for pro-choice members of the US. They use the argument 'It's her body' with that in mind, anything you do to your body should be legal. The fact that a woman can cut a fetus out of her body, but I can't smoke a bit of weed is illogical.

2. It would be a major source of revenue for the United States. Instead of not being able to tax the hell out of all drugs. Right now, even though people are getting drugs, the government doesn't have anything to tax because the dealers definitely aren't the most legal people themselves. If retail stores such as Walmart or Target carried narcotics, it would be a large amount of goods taxable by the US government.

3. People are stupid. They are going to acquire drugs one way or another even i

Resolved: 'Vagina Day' should be a national holiday

(Post Voting Period) I am arguing that 'Vagina Day' a day that would celebrate women, honor all the accomplishments of famous women, and honor all women in society today of hanging in there despite all the crap they take from both men and nature, should become a national holiday where businesses and schools take the day off and everything

Con is against this resolution

- First round is acceptance only.
- 4000 characters
- No pictures of Vaginas are to be posted. Feel free to make as many Vagina jokes as you want though

Now can be accepted :D

Drug Testing on students in extra curricular activities

(Post Voting Period) Drug testing on students is not nessecary. Imagine if you wanted to apply for a sports team and had to pee in a cup to join. If you had to do this wouldn't you be mad? The Government would loose 2 billion dollars doing random drug tests! Even if the government did start drug testing, what would they accomplish. No Middle school students have been tested positive on a drug test for performance enhancing drugs. The few cases in which a student has been tested positive relate to use of marijuana, which does not enhance performance.

Vaccinations Against Preventable Childhood Disease

(Voting Period) Vaccinations against highly infectious childhood diseases such as the measles, mumps, rubella, and pertussis (aka whooping cough) have saved millions of lives and improved the quality of life in countries where vaccines are accessible to the public. Unfortunately, more than half of the parents in the United States and some parts of the United Kingdom are choosing not to vaccinate for fear that vaccinations are harmful to their children. Autism, mercury, and aluminum are commonly cited as reasons against vaccinations: all reasons which have been poorly researched by antivaxxers. The Andrew Wakefield article loosely correlating the MMR vaccine and autism has been thoroughly debunked and retracted. The mercury used in Thimerosol (ethylmercury) is much easier for the body to break down than the mercury found in seafood (methylmercury), and an infant will have greater aluminum exposure from 6 months of breastfeeding than from their full vaccination schedule in the s

Eating meat is good for your health

(Post Voting Period) Does anyone want to argue in favour of this?

Assuming focus on developed western nations, and that extended life expectancy and prevention of disease = good for health. Also, that eating meat is good for your health in comparison to other non-meat alternative food sources (i.e. not to be compared with eating nothing instead etc.).

I'll argue against.

If someone accepts, this will be my first debate, so please let me know if there is anything that I've missed out regarding format & rules etc.

should cannabis be made legal

(Voting Period) I personally think cannabis aka weed should be made legal. Personally I don't smoke it or use it in any way possible but it does have many health benefits such as pain killer, muscle relaxant, stress reliever and the list goes on and on. But personally why should tobacco be legal and not weed, weed has more health benefits but yet its illegal. End the war on drugs its just wasting tax payers money.

should people adopt wild animals

(Post Voting Period) A lot of times this question has popped into my head and at first I thought "why not, people have rights, don't they?" But it could be a major health issue. For example, the animal has rabies, or you decide to set it free after a few years and it dies from starvation or wanders into some random house for food...big problem.
