(Post Voting Period) Whoever accepts to take this argument will be talking about how we are getting gas from the middle instead of Canada. Which to me makes absolutely no sense.
Thank you,

budget cuts.

(Post Voting Period) When revenues from taxes and fees decline, government officials face a gap between projected revenue and planned expenditures. Unlike the federal government, which can borrow to finance its budget deficits, state and local governments must balance their budgets. For governments facing a budget deficit, balancing the budget means raising taxes, cutting spending or instituting a combination of both. Raising taxes is never popular but can be political suicide during an economic recession. Often, policy makers prefer to look for budget cuts as an alternative.

Job Creation in the US - Tax outsourcing, Put unemployment beneficiaries to work

(Voting Period) Our job creation problems is actually fairly simple to solve.
We need to tax corporation who outsource their labor... who is going to replace the cheap labor you ask?

Easy...The people who collect unemployment need to be put to work.

The government pays the unemployed, the corporations pay the government the same wage they paid the overseas worker. (maybe the government will break even, they can use the rest of the money to help the unemployed - skill training, counseling, home assistance)

You might see this as slave labor for the corporations, but i say

So you rather see people collect unemployment checks, and drain our economy further? What is the point of people sitting around collecting checks.... Put these people to work, maybe they will learn a new skills at this job... Maybe they will make valuable connections that can lead to a real job. Obviously these jobs are going to very low level type jobs... Employers might see something in these

Is The Illuminati Real.

(Post Voting Period) I Believe The Illuminati Is Real.

God told us in his word, in revelations, what was to come near the end times. It is happening right in front of our eyes, and the Illuminati is at the forefront of this. Most of the people involved are heavily into Satan worship, and the history of these families is quite extensive, right down to the breeding they have done within their own families to keep the bloodlines pure.

There plans of taking over this world is really really short......................

The government should cut significantly spending on welfare

(Post Voting Period) The government should significantly cut spending on welfare because it is part of the reason why the nation is in a lot of debt. Welfare also gets people dependent on it. It gives people free money without working hard. The government should make it easier for people to get jobs instead of giving them free money. They should do that by helping businesses. If they cut taxes and regulations on businesses then businesses will have more money and they will hire more employees. Once businesses start to hire more employees, there will be no need for the government to spend a lot money on welfare. The people who are looking for a job should be on unemployment benefits until they find a job. The people who don't have enough education to have a descent paying job should be on welfare if they go to college. The government should give loans out to poor people who can't afford to go to college and have them pay back the loans once they are out of college and get a good pay

Capitalism is responsible for the detrimental effects to human life

(Post Voting Period) In this debate, Round 1 is acceptance. Round 2 is arguments.
Round 3 is arguments and rebuttal. Round 4 is rebuttal and conclusion.
These days many people in the capitalist countries face loss of job opportunity.
Moreover, the stability of human life and the dignity of human beings are being threatened. Capitalism is responsible for those predicaments.
I define the capitalism as follows: ``Capitalism leads to unfair and exploitative concentrations of wealth and power in the hands of the relative few who emerge victorious from free-market competition - people who then use their wealth and power to reinforce their dominance in society. Because such people are rich, they may choose where and how to live and their choices in turn limit the options of the poor.`` ( http://www.britannica.com)
It is true that socialism brought about many harmful effects on human life and society during the days of Cold War. However, we must admit that the emergence of the

Should contenders always win?

(Post Voting Period) A free win will be given to pro if they can refute the following argument:

Contenders should not always win because sometimes they fail to post even remotely logical arguments that can challenge that of the instigator. While the instigator has the advantage, most topics on DDO are balanced and researchable for both sides, making it a toss up between the two sides, leaving the contender as the One who may not post better arguments, like me.

The United States should establish a living wage

(Post Voting Period)
Hello all! Today we will be debating whether the United States should establish a living wage.
A living wage is a minimum wage that is above poverty and can sustain a person. Theoretically, different families and workers have different living wages. For example, I would set the living wage for one person sustaining only themselves at nine dollars and twenty cents. It would be higher for supporting kids, or a wife, or a husband, etc etc.

So, I will be saying this raise in minimum wage is good, you will be saying it is bad.

Seventy two hours to vote, eight thousand characters, five rounds!

Formalities
Round 1-Acceptance
Round 2-Arguments with no clash
Round 3-Refutation
Round 4-Counter refutation
Round 5-Conclusion

is there an alternative for prison

(Post Voting Period) why should we give the heartless people in this world any other option but prison? Prison is the only way of ensuring that criminals are taken out of circulation. Alternatives to prison, by their very nature, are riskier. The offender is, after all, still 'on the street', and the public are still at risk of re offending the offender. also,Prison is an immediate, easily understood punishment. Following the sentence, the convicted criminal is immediately escorted out of the courtroom, placed in the prison van and to be taken behind the high walls of the prison. No other sentence is seen to have this immediacy. why would you want to risk the person escaping because action was taken right then and there.
