Mafia Theory Debate: The inactive Rule is better to follow than the noob rule

(Debating Period)
I will be arguing the inactive rule is theoretically a better rule to follow when leading lynches, than the noob rule.
I will briefly define in my own words, what each is. Also for clarification, these aren’t exactly rules per say, as they are not required for players to follow. They are more just Standard Operating Procedures that have been created by players and been labeled rules.

Inactive Rule: This is a procedure that is thought to be an effective way of catching scum, as it pursues players who aren’t as active as other players, or who have a lower post count. Some players feel that there is a good chance to catch scum in inactive players, as they are not as caught up, and may miss details that a more active player might of picked up on. This therefore leads to a higher chance of the player “scum slipping”. This rule is also used commonly near the beginning of the game, to save the ache of pursu

Should Native American Mascots be Banned from sports teams?

(Debating Period) Well, many believe that the Native American mascots are racist &/or offending. I, for one, am not native american but I duly believe it would be an honor to have a professional sports team representing your race/nationality. I understand the other side's opinion when many say that some logos or mascot names such as the logo for the Cleveland Indians logo or the term "redskin". However, just these small adjustments can be made without having to revoke the whole idea of having a Native American culture mascot.

I like to keep my excrement. People think this is wrong

(Debating Period) Many people of todays society seem to think that me keeping my poo after i've been to the toilet is wrong. I strongly disagree, it's something that I have created and If i want to keep it then I will certainly do so. I always walk the streets with poo in my pockets + in my hands. Ive actually had the police called on me one time, I was trying to buy a magazine, and i forgot to hide my poo, i almost placed a turd in his hand instead of money! oops!

Getting back on track, I would love to debate with someone who thinks this is wrong as ive been bottling my feelings up now for a while

courts have the responsibilty to create racially balanced schools.

(Debating Period) 1)Negative assertion: In 1974 court ordered busing wasn"t the only strategy that could have desegregated Boston"s public schools.
Other options would be to give other options and more choices. Where you live is your choice so schools aren"t segregated by law. These options would cause less violence.
2)Negative assertion: Students and society will not benefit from more children attending racially integrated schools.
The surveys may not be right. This may only work in a poor community. Some of the groups won"t stick together.
3)Negative assertion: To create a desegregated school system a judge should not be able to tell parents where their children must attend school.
They should allow six choices and larger "zones". The new plan gives inequality due to the fact the judge could send all minorities to different schools then whites. This plan would give equality to blacks, Latinos and other minorities.

The Moral Argument is Sound!

(Debating Period)
I wish to engage in the topic of morality. I contend that the moral argument is sound. This moral argument is strictly for the God of Abraham and His character.

Resolution: The moral argument is sound!

In this debate Pro will assume the Burden of Proof. Pro must show the moral argument is sound. Con assumes the task of showing the moral argument as not being sound.

My moral argument is as follows:

i) If God does not exist, then objective moral values and duties do not exist

Deep Space Nine was the best star Trek show.

(Debating Period) I will be arguing that overall, Deep Space Nine (from now on abbreviated as DS9) was the best Star Trek. My opponent may argue that any of the others were better but cannot rely solely on one movie (for example using Wrath of Khan to prove the original series was the best).
The first round is for acceptance.
Good luck and may the best nerd win.

(Debating Period) The government should not infringe on the Second Amendment Obama is far from the solution on Gun Control. Why should people tell me what to use to protect my family. if it's an AR-15 or a double barreled shotgun that I use, it should be fine. The NRA is closer to the solution than the Liberals are on Capitol Hill are. The 2nd Amendment says a well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. A person with a gun is a lot faster in dealing with an intruder than the police. An average time for police to respond to a 911 call is about 4 minutes and a private citizen response is about 30 seconds. Which one is faster and gets the job done quicker?

There Are Good Secular Reasons to Disallow Same-Sex Marriage

(Debating Period)
HonestDiscussioner and I have agreed on terms. I will launch immediately into my opening statement.

~

The state regulates marriage for a reason. It dispenses benefits for a reason. Understanding what this reason is will tell us what criteria are and are not relevant to marriage, and thus whether any rights are being denied. If the state excludes same-sex couples from entering into legal marriages on the basis of criteria relevant to the public purpose of marriage, then it is clear that no rights or benefits are being denied to them; for it is not unjust to deny a group a right that they do not deserve. Our answer to questions relating to the level of scrutiny, suspect classification, and fundamental rights will depend on what this reason is, as it provides a standard from which the debate can be framed.

This reason, whatever it is, must advance a public purpose. Social institutions are afforded l

We should relax restrictions on guns

(Debating Period) Here are some things I agree with:
1. Universal background checks
2. The prevention of allowing guns in the hands of people with certain mental health conditions. Although we cant stop them, I agree that they shouldn't have guns as easily as others.
3. People kill people, not guns. If everyone was armed, there would be less crime because nobody would want to commit crime against an armed person.
4. There should be armed policemen at every school, he can stop the killer before he even kills any innocent lives.

With that being said, gun restrictions can make everything worse because it would create a black market which would kill more people. The same thing happened with alcohol, marijuana, and prostitution. If there is something that people want, they will get it. Criminals don't follow laws, to anyone who simply says that it would make it harder for them to get it: this may be slightly true, but reality is they will find a way.

For example, Switzerlan

It is better to have Brains than Beauty

(Debating Period) " Knowledge is Power" - Sir Francis Bacon

1)The brain is the container of knowledge. The basic difference between a beast and a man, is the latter's possession of an advanced brain which gives him the ability to think and allows him to differentiate between good and evil.

2)Physical beauty is an added quality. Life is enlightened for brains and not for beauty. A beautiful person, especially the female gender in this case, can have a dull brain and might just end up harming herself. For example, Marilyn Monroe.
Marilyn was the biggest box-office draw of her time, her name sold a million movie tickets, and every red-blooded man in the world was in lust with her. But despite the power she exerted over men, including the most powerful of them, John F Kennedy, then President of the United States , Marilyn seemed strangely powerless when it came to staying in charge of her own life. She drifted from one disastrous relationship to another, sought comfort in d

Courts have the responsibility to create racially balanced schools

(Debating Period) Affirmative assertion: In 1974 court ordered busing was the only strategy that could have desegregated Boston's public schools. Neighborhoods were segregated by the race and children went to neighborhood schools. Even though Boston built new schools they were still segregated. Everything just got worst in Boston and even after the law said schools had to be.
Affirmative assertion: To create a desegregated school system; a judge should be able to tell parents where their children must attend school. If students go to school closer to home, school might be re segregated. The judge's planed was to create schools that included children from several neighborhoods. The new plan would make kids go to bad schools in their neighborhoods.
Affirmative assertion: Courts have the power to reduce the effects of racial discrimination. Schools were run by the court and eventually desegregated. The police were used to reinforce Garrity"s decision. Judge Garrity told Boston
