Preschool Is A Waste Of Time

(Voting Period) Parents should not send their children to preschool for several reasons. First and foremost, the year is better spent with a full-time parent. In addition, most children will learn very little at preschool. Contrary to claims made by preschool advocates, children are not better equipped because of preschool. They may develop social skills and hand painting skills sooner, however children that miss preschool will quickly catch up before they finish the first grade.

(Voting Period) There can never be peace for everyone or will crimes ever cease to be comitted. The government cant do anything to stop anyone because the world itself will always have the aura of chaos about it. meaning people debating or arguing about racism or prejudices or violence is not going to do anything to save us from any of those evils.

The Canadian government should legalize the use of marijuana

(Voting Period) A lot of people are dying because people start taking marijuana. Marijuana is the most commonly abused illicit drug in the United States. A dry, shredded green/brown mix of flowers, stems, seeds, and leaves of the hemp plant Cannabis sativa, it usually is smoked as a cigarette (joint, nail), or in a pipe (bong). It also is smoked in blunts, which are cigars that have been emptied of tobacco and refilled with marijuana, often in combination with another drug. It might also be mixed in food or brewed as a tea. As a more concentrated, resinous form it is called hashish and, as a sticky black liquid, hash oil. Marijuana smoke has a pungent and distinctive, usually sweet-and-sour odor. There are countless street terms for marijuana including pot, herb, weed, grass, widow, ganja, and hash, as well as terms derived from trademarked varieties of cannabis, such as Bubble Gum, Northern Lights, Fruity Juice, Afghani #1, and a number of Skunk varieties. The main active che

River Rafting Should Not Be Regulated

(Voting Period) The wild rivers of the USA belong to the people, not to environmental advocates or park rangers. If a group of people want to raft down one of America's rivers, they should not be required to get a permit. Common sense, general safety rules, and environmental care should be used instead.

Gun control

(Voting Period) I personally believe that every person within the US has enough responsibility to own a gun and to not abuse this privilege. Without these weapons, many people would feel insecure within their homes. Additionally, if we were to take guns away from our citizens, the use of illegal, and unregistered guns would drastically increase. Therefore allowing our citizens to own guns is immensely important.

Gay Marriage

(Voting Period) I believe that Gay marriage is completely okay. It is a way of two people who really love each other to show there commitment for each other. It means something to them. There is no reason for it to not be legal in the whole country. All they want is to be treated as equals not be looked at as outcasts. They did nothing to be treated badly. You don't have to be completely comfortable to allow it. They aren't hurting anyone so why are they being treated like it. Just because its different doesn't mean its wrong. You can have whatever religion that you want and its not illegal.

Birth Control in Middle Schools

(Voting Period) Many students are starting to experiment with sex at an earlier and earlier age. Although it may be the responsibility for parents to educate and provide information about birth control to their children, there are a lot of parents that are failing to do so or failing to do this at an early enough age. Because of this phenomenon there is an increasing amount of pregnancies, abortions and STDs because of lack of information. Even though it is sometimes believed that introducing this information may actually entice youngsters to experiment earlier than they may on their own, I believe that pressure from their peers, television and music are much bigger influences that will provoke this behavior more than clear, concise information. Although this may be a catalyst for some children, I believe that the number of youngsters that could be helped by this information will far outweigh the number being enticed by it.

The moral code of the christian religion is violent and hateful.

(Voting Period) Before you here my argument, hear this. It is good to believe in something, it truly is; but do not be a slave to that belief. Beliefs change. Do not split your mind in two, and deny contradicting information because you are afraid of being seen as blasphemous. If you're beliefs are true, then you should be able to consider, hear other argumants, and be skeptical, and it will still be true. Splitting your mind is extremely unhealthy. Ponder on your beliefs, and let me start a seed of critical thinking in your mind.

Christianity is really rather violent. The "holy" bible states that if you do not accept Jesus as your savior (if you are not a christian, essentially) you will be eternally tortured. It presents "god" as all forgiving. It also says that if you don't follow god's every demand then you will be tortured. This is the kind of belief that terrifies little kids. My main problem with the philosophy of christianity, is that it splits the world into the r

Capitolism

(Voting Period) Capitolism creates a tense society where everyone is working for self-promotion. All of our (American) society is based on someone trying to outdo someone else; someone trying to sell something to you; Someone trying to use you for a profit. They see you as a way to make money. Next time your outside in a city, take a look around. Theres billboards trying to use you to make a profit. Theres prople walking around with T-shirts that encourage you to give your money to certain large corporations. Why can't we all just break this tension and work together. When people hear "socialism" they think communists and Stalin and people waiting in line for bread. I am not a communist. I do not believe inmaking this a way of government, but instead a way of society. Big corporations do not have a sense of morality. They do not stop at making you give them your money. But what is money? its just imagined. At the beginning, we would just trade the goods that we wanted. eventua

America is a slave to fashion.

(Voting Period) My argument isn't really that eloquent, but here goes. I've been around for a while, and everywhere I go, somebody is criticized about the clothes they wear or how they wear their clothes. But then there are people who are trying to act "cool" or "gangsta". But who really invented these styles anyway? Well, what I', trying to say, is that people will always be criticized about their clothes.

Are human beings destroying EARTH???

(Voting Period) I firmly believe that human beings are destroying our Earth. I have evidence of such degradation in the everyday life.
Take into account deforestation, caused by the high request of land for agriculture and urban development, the extensive action of the logging industry, and also wildfires and acid rains.
As another proof of this ruin, let's think about air pollution, caused by industries, heating systems and traffic of motor vehicles, that cause serious problems to respiratory and cardiovascular apparatus, but also contribute to the global heating, a problem nowadays much discussed.
Moreover, the industrial system has spread through advertising a consumer psychosis that obliges people to chase happiness buying unnecessary items and throwing away others, such as clothes, food, furniture and objects, considered as garbage even if they're still usable. All this rubbish takes a long time to degrade, and remains in natural environments ruining it.
Today, also

(Voting Period) Socialism is evil. Our government has become Socialist. Social Security, welfare, medicare and medicade, prescription drug benefits, department of education and many other wasteful "programs" are killing our country. I'm against all of the above in their current form. Democrats get elected by pandering to the poorest and most downtrodden of our society and promising more and more programs. We need to end these programs as soon as possible.

The Internet brings more harm than good

(Voting Period) Good morning I bid to the Madam Speaker, righteous adjudicators, honourable timekeeper, my fellow comrades, doomed adversaries, and members of the floor. I am here today as the Prime Minister of the government bench to construct the debate on the topic the Internet brings more harm than good. The parameter of this topic is global.

The Internet's definition by wikipedia is a "network of networks". The Internet has brought a lot of good points, but as with any tool, I would like to add that misuse has made the Internet bad. Remember, the Internet is a useful tool, but all that glitters is not gold. Firstly, the Internet is a place which is NOT safe for children. This is basically because of threats of pop-ups, pornography and scams that can trick the child.
The Internet is not only an unsafe place for children, but also a bad influence to young teenagers. Pornography from the Internet is leading to the rise of a society of perverts, paedophiles and freaks

Hillary Clinton Will Make A Bad President

(Voting Period) Hillary Clinton would be a horrible president for several reasons:

1. Her economic policies of wealth redistribution will destroy the economy. Furthermore, the second she abolishes capital gains the markets will crash.

2. Her national health care system will lower the quality of health care for all Americans.

3. She has no guiding principles. Instead, she makes policy based on polls and what gives here the best public image.

4. Mrs. Clinton has never managed any organization of significance. Being a Senator just means that you show up 6-months out of the year and either vote on issues, or propose bills. Besides a tiny staff, Mrs. Clinton has never had to manage a group of thousands or even hundreds of people. How then can she be deemed to have the managerial skills and experience to manage millions of government employees and thousands of bureaucracies?

5. She is too divisive. Hillary and Bill have a record of pitting one group against another, i
