Resolved: Powerlifting is a Better Choice Than Bodybuilding

(Challenge Period)
Resolution:

On balance, powerlifting is a superior lifting discipline to bodybuilding for one to practice.

As Pro, I will be affirming the resolution by arguing that powerlifting is the superior path to take.

As Con, you will be arguing the opposite (that one ought to be a bodybuilder rather than a powerlifter.)

Burden of Proof:

BoP will be shared.

Definitions:

All terms requiring clarification once the debate has started will be defined using the merriam-webster online dictionary definition that best fits the context of this debate. If there is a dispute on which definition best fits the context of this debate, the final arbitration is reserved for myself.

Bodybuilding: A lifting discipline involving building a lean, muscular, and symmetrical body for the purp

Medical Confidentiality

(Challenge Period) Medical diagnosis and treatment produce information useful to direct patient care and a variety of other social circumstances. It has been a traditional precept of medical ethics, however, that confidentiality in health care is the best way to protect the well-being of patients. Both ethics and the law support a strong presumption in favour of medical confidentiality. That confidentiality is not, however, absolute, and there are justifiable exceptions.

Discuss the ethical dilemmas of medical confidentiality in view of educational purposes, breach for the benefit of patients and public healthcare policy

Wisconsin Womens Hockey is better than Minnesota

(Challenge Period) Wisconsin is clearly far superior. Look at their coaching staff. Mark Johnson was a 1980 miracle on ice gold medalist. Where is Brad frost even from? Not to mention Mark has more experience. He coached the olympic team to a silver in 2010. Also Wisconsin has graduated more olympians than minnesota. Vetter, Lawler, Knight, Duggan, Mikkleson, Slusar, Zaugg, and Engstrom to name a few. Not to mention Wisconsin has won more titles in the last seven years.

"High power", "Assault rifle" and "weapons of war" are all misnomers applied to the AR15

(Challenge Period) Misnomer- noun
a wrong or inaccurate name or designation: "king crab" is a misnomer"these creatures are not crustaceans at all.
" a wrong or inaccurate use of a name or term: to call this "neighborhood policing" would be a misnomer.
Taken from the New Oxford American Dictionary.
First round is acceptance(no opening statements) . Each subsequent round is for one of the above labels

Race is purely a social construct

(Challenge Period) It has been said that race is purely a social construct with science seemingly supporting the notion.

This view has gained traction, but I believe that the notion that race is purely a social construct is itself purely a social construct and that race definitely and objectively exists.

As Pro, you will be arguing that it is at its most fundamental level a purely social construct.

BoP

Somewhat shared, but the greater weight of burden is placed on Pro. Pro must prove the proposition to be the case in reality.

1st round is acceptance and Pros arguments. All rebuttals thereafter. Feel free to add as many new arguments as the debate occasions.

British Teachers Often Don't Afford Students The Credit Of Intelligence

(Challenge Period)

I am a 13 year-old with a rather uncommon disorder named Aspergers Syndrome, this means that I am able to challenge the modern psyche of children are inferior to adults, which some people take for granted and have never thought to challenge. Essentially, even when it isn't a smart thing to do, my brain makes me say things to teachers which I regret later. I first truly realised the extent of teachers disrespect for their pupils on the 21st of may at 2 o'clock. I had recived a detention based on the school's new "double removal system" which has evidently been set up to punish repeat offenders who have given up on school and think there is nothing left in education. I had recieved the detention for not having my homework diary signed. I immediatelly thought that this was unfair, on the whole, I behave impeccably towards my betters and I didn't see why I s
