Islam is a religion of peace

(Post Voting Period) 1. Muhammad was a peaceful man who taught his followers to be the same. Muslims lived peacefully for centuries, fighting only in self-defense, and only when it was necessary. True Muslims would never act aggressively.

2. Religious minorities have flourished under Islam. Muslims are commanded to protect Jews and Christians (the People of the Book) and do them no harm. The Quran says in Sura 109, "To you, your religion. To me, mine."

3. Islam is intolerant of enslaving human beings. The religion eradicated the institution of slavery thanks to the principles set in motion by Muhammad, who was an abolitionist.

Debate votes are irrelevant.

(Post Voting Period) Debate votes are irrelevant. My self-included most individuals in here are not capable of voting in accordance to the rules of debate (myself included) making their vote irrelevant. The voting section is not set up to vote in accordance to the rules and popularity is the only deciding factor.

Schoolhoming is a revolutionary idea.

(Post Voting Period)
There was this boy in our neighbourhood called Bob. What made Bob so unique is that I never saw him on the bus on the way to school. This made me wonder how he got to school. I asked him if he teleported to school using his mind. He replied "no". "Don't you go to school?" I asked him, shortly after he replied "I go to school at home." I thought that having all your education at home is a bit weird and backwards, but I probably shouldn't have been so surprised. Bob was a backwards kind of guy. He even spelt his name backwards.

I then tried to think all backwards the way he does, and soon I came up with a brilliant idea; doing everything a normal person does at home at school. Brushing your teeth, getting dressed, going to sleep, eating breakfast and dinner, that sort of thing. I then thought that I should be as imaginative as the advocates of homsechooling, so I named my idea "Schoolhoming".

So that's what I want to debate today,

Halo is better than Call of Duty (Please base votes on arguments not what you think is better)

(Post Voting Period) I believe that Halo is better than Call of Duty because:

1. Halo is balanced for competitive game play. The weapons, the maps, the ranking system, the equipment/AA's are all designed to work well in a competitive environment. Every weapon has a different functionality or use giving the game great weapon variety and depth.

2. Halo battles are about outsmarting and outperforming your opponent using your weapons, grenades, melee, and sometimes your equipment to defeat your enemies. Its not all about who sees who first, because while that is a large factor as in any first person shooter game, there is a ton more decision making and skill that goes into a Halo match than any Call of Duty match.

3. Call of Duty campaigns are unoriginal and don't have any in depth story lines, for example, imagine your sitting across a table from your war buddy, and your playing Russian roulette, big shocker, he doesn't get killed and you escape imprisonment. Now, picture a Se

Using, selling, growing, or possesing marijuana should be legal

(Post Voting Period) Greetings!

So, as you can see, this debate will be about the legalization of marijuana. Pro will argue that it should be legal, con will argue that it should be illegal.

The rules:

- The debate will not be about the US, the UK, Belgium or any other particular country. So please don't quote your constitution.
- First round is for acceptance.
- No new arguments in the last round

The definitions (according to the Oxford dictionary):
Use= take or consume (an amount) from a limited supply
Sell=give or hand over (something) in exchange for money
Grow = cause (plants) to germinate and develop
Possess = have as belonging to one; own
Marijuana = cannabis, especially as smoked in cigarettes:
Should = used to indicate obligation, duty, or correctness, typically when criticizing someone"s actions
Be= having the state, quality, identity, nature, role, etc., specified
Legal= permitted by law

I 'm looking forward to the debate.
