(Post Voting Period) Being against Gay Marriage is discrimination, it is no different than not allowing African Americans to go to white schools. Telling a portion of the American people that they are not allowed to do something because of who they are, is wrong. All human beings should be treated as equals and given the same rights as everyone else.

(Post Voting Period) I will be challenging 16kadams to a debate on Gay Marriage. I will be arguing for gay marriage, on the Pro side. I will be arguing that Marriage rights should be given to Homosexuals, but that parenthood should be defined as being between one Man and one Woman, one Father and one Mother, in line with nature. I will be arguing that Marriage is a concept thought up by humans, that marriage is both a religious act and a legal contract, but that it is not a natural act, as parenthood is. So my side is, legalize gay marriage as there is nothing "unnatural" about gay marriage, as marriage was invented by humans, but that parenthood be defined as being between one Man and one Woman, meaning gay people cannot adopt, because children need both a Mother and a Father for a stable environment to grow up in. I look forward to this debate with 16kadams. Good luck!

I will be debating 16kadams again on the subject of Gay Marriage. My opponent had time constraints last time, and so it ended in a tie. Hopefully this debate will turn out better.

Resolved: The US should legalize marriage amongst homosexuals.

Current definition of Marriage according to US law: [1]"The legal union of one man and one woman."

I argue that this definition should be redefined to include same sex couples. My opponent must show me why I am wrong.

Rules: Round 1 is acceptance and definitions. If there is anything else my opponent wishes me to define or to clarify, he can do so in his acceptance post. Rounds 2 and 3 are for arguments and the final round is for final rebuttals and closing statements.

To clarify, we are arguing solely about SSM in view of the law.

This weeks topic, Gay Marriage (man and man or woman and woman) should be illegalized sometime in the near future (like in a month), but straight marriage (man and a woman) should be ILLEGALIZED IMMEDIATELY. Any idiot can argue on whether or not gay marriage should be legal, but it takes a true dumba** like me to argue that straight marriage shouldnt be legal at all ;D. I will introduce arguments in later rounds though.

There are only 2 parameters for this debate.

- Con must agree that Mitt Romney is a really sh*tty person to go up against Obama
- Con must agree that Rick Santorum was a crack head

(Post Voting Period) Gay marriage should not be legalized, for many reasons. One, it is immoral and is banned in most major religions. Second, it is unnatural. A family must consist of one man and one woman to carry out their respective motherly and fatherly roles. A same sex couple can not use this universal rule of marriage, and can definitely not raise adopted children the same way biological children of opposite sex couples are raised. Third, if gay marriage is legalized in the United States, think of the repercussions... the people will then start demanding legalization of other unnatural and immoral forms of marriages and sexual relationships, such as polygamy and sodomy.

I find it ironic how countries are trying to fight against homophobia, even though laws against the right for gays to marry IS being homophobic. I also find it sexist how men love to see lesbians, (because they think we're into special 'kinky' things that other couples wouldn't do, even though that's not true. We have the same sex life as straight couples) and hate seeing gay men.

I pose a different question. Should the institution of a religious union be apart of government? This is to exclude the idea of a legal union for gaining access to custody of children, homes, insurance, ect.. and to have a merit in court should a disagreement in ownership or access occur. I argue no. Reason: Anytime a law can give access to one group, it gains the ability to remove the same access. This debate is (quite obviously) on the subject of whether or not gay marriages should be legal.

Round 1 will be for acceptance, with no arguments posted.
Round 2 will be for arguments, no rebuttals of Pro's arguments by Con yet.

Now, since this seems to be the ongoing trend in my debates as of late, let me get this one thing clear:

(Post Voting Period) This is a debate that Gay Marriage should not be legal where limits are to be set for Californian law and customs. Gay Marriage is defined as being: Lawful Marriage between 2 people of same gender. There are 3 points supporting gay marriage: 1. First and foremost, America in general is founded on the civil liberties and freedom for all including for gay people to be allowed to marry. 2. Current California law makes gay marriage illegal.
