Preschool Is A Waste Of Time

(Voting Period) Parents should not send their children to preschool for several reasons. First and foremost, the year is better spent with a full-time parent. In addition, most children will learn very little at preschool. Contrary to claims made by preschool advocates, children are not better equipped because of preschool. They may develop social skills and hand painting skills sooner, however children that miss preschool will quickly catch up before they finish the first grade.

(Voting Period) this is so true as to not even be funny

the public schools continue to go downhill

this rests sqarely on the backs of the NEA and AFT and the liberals who want to teach socialism and moral degeneracy rather than

Math
Science
History
Reading and the English Language
Geography
Computers
language

and the other things that kids will need to succeed in the world

I will be happy to post statistics backing this claim

Sex Education should be taught in public schools.

(Voting Period) I think that the title basically speaks for itself as well as the definitions.

So on with my opening.

Contentions:

I. A bias free education is the right of every child, including sex education especially since virtually 100% of them will use it, even in marriage.

II. To not teach sex education would be harmful to students

III. The facts should be taught in school, morals should be taught at home because morals differ from family to family.

I can disprove evolution like i could disprove a book having no front cover.

(Voting Period) Lets start by introducing what evolution and creation have to say on this topic. Evolution tells us that life on earth has arose from slight less complex orgianiums into more structured and complex orgains. All based on mutaions, eviroment and the survival of the fit.
Creation teaches that a supreme being normally named God, made all types of aminals, and none arose by chance or random selection. God made all the birds and fish, mamales, repties etc, then allowing variations with in a kind or family of animals (micro evolution) to occour.

Now i said the basics lets start by the meaning of science. Science means testable repeatable, and exspimental testing which would have a time limit, based on that, evolution will remain a theory. In 1930 the theory of evolution was worldly spead and was named scienctific. Using logical methods you can see fatal flaws big enough to fit every book ever writen in side. Let me enphsise this point more, to disprove Newton's

Should schools have single gender classes??

(Voting Period) I oppose this topic because you need to cooperate with boys/girls for your social skills in life. If you are so comfortable with just working with same gender in the class for projects or such. then when you get to college or your job you wont have any experience with teaming up with the opposite gender You need to keep your mind open for everyone's opinions.(girls and guys)

Evolution and Creationism should both be taught in public schools

(Voting Period) According to a recent Gallup poll, 66 percent of Americans believe in Creationism, while 53 percent believe in Evolution. Obviously there is some overlap here. A full quarter of Americans believe that both Evolution and Creationism are definitely or probably true, suggesting to me that they believe God created the universe THROUGH evolution; a reasonable belief.

It's obvious that America is divided on this issue.

We have public institutions for educating our young people. They are run by the Federal government and paid for by our taxes. Not just the Evolutionists' taxes, or the Creationists' taxes, but Everyone's'. But is this division of belief reflected in our public schools?

No, it is not. The vast, overwhelming majority of public schools--99 and some fraction percent--teach ONLY Evolution.

Does this reflect the beliefs of Americans?

No, it does not. The public school system, which should represent the views of Americans, represents only t

The Character Limit at Debate.org is a Nuisance and Should Be Removed.

(Voting Period) I beleive the character limit is a nuisance to seriosu debaters, and in some cases (see my debate on Africa, in which I have had to delete several things on almost every post due to the character limit) actually limits the debate. I beleive that there should be no character length, but rather a trust that no one will go ridiculously in depth with superfluous information. Added to this I can see no reason for it to be around. At the very least, I support lengthening it.

I beleive it was added as a sort of parrallel into normal debate, serving as a sort of time limit. However, online debate is very different from speech and debate, and therefore doesn't deserve a limiting function such as the character limit.

Reasons there should be no character limit:
1. It is a nuisance
2. It gets in the way of serious debate
3. It has no purpose
4. Removing it could only have positive impacts
5. There are no negative impacts

Randomness is a lack of Knowledge in both Spiritual and Physical world.

(Voting Period) By not being able to have the knowledge of a great or a small deal of information is random. As information is knowledgeable, therefore by definition it would appear random, as you have no knowledge of the matter at hand.

If being scared is a fright of sudden randomness, not being able to understand something. Like in my very personal case not understanding the spiritual world is frightening as well as random. Example: Water into wine by Jesus Christ. This will seem random because of your lack of knowledge on the matter at hand. By definition randomness is a lack of knowledge, so with that in mind is the spiritual world not be anymore random than the physical world? As I believe that sin like Satan who hides from a sinner to prevent you knowing your spiritual side. As I believe we are both physical and spiritual beings. Hell is the place where your spirit dies, Heaven is where you spirit lives. Sin leads to a physical life style. Therefore believing in the

Is Home Schooling The Answer

(Voting Period) Perhaps home schooling is the answer for many families, considering how high the drop out rates are, the schools are trying to teach morals, discipline, or fashion.
The schools are blaming parents, the Government and the children on the drop out rate, refusing to improve the system that is failing many children.
It is the teacher's job to give a basic education so that children will be prepared for college.
It is not their job to raise our children, to teach morals, how to dress, or to discourage them by punishing them for forgetting to wear the school badge.
It is the parent's job to make sure their children receive an education, have good moral standing, and become law abiding, productive adults in our society.
So I don't see any problems with a parent teaching their child at home, or even finding a private school that has a low to no drop out rate.

Single sex schools

(Voting Period) I am against single sex schools.

I have always been studying in the co-education schools, and have realized that with the daily company of males, as they are totally different humans both in the was they work and how they view life in general, half of my discovering around life has evolved through the connection with the opposite sex in school. Like half of your own being develops from both your mother and father, half and half, I believe living daily lives with the opposite sex make half of yourself during developing years. My school work in general had improved due to constantly being forced different opinions and views from boys, that I understand the world a lot more from being around them. Also it is against nature to be separated from the other sex which at the end of the day, we wouldn't be living without.

Should we bring back the Bible in our school system?

(Voting Period) My question to you is, should the Bible be brought back into our school system? Before the early 1960's, the Bible was a primary textbook in the classroom, but now the Supreme Court has ruled this unconstitutional. What do you think of this opinion, and do you think this aligns with the founding father's view of religion in schools? Why?

The Nazis were evil

(Voting Period) Nazi's suck. They killed all the Jews and made them dead and that's not alright with me. The Jews loved God and didn't afraid of anything so they didn't need to become an hero.

Indeed dialectical critical realism may be seen under the aspect of Foucauldian strategic reversal-of the unholy trinity of Parmenidean/Platonic/Aristotelean provenance; of the Cartesian-Lockean-Humean-Kantian paradigm; of foundationalisms (in practice, fideistic foundationalisms) and irrationalisms (in practice, capricious exercises of the will-to-power or some other ideologically and/or psycho-somatically buried source) new and old alike; of
the primordial failing of western philosophy, ontological monovalence, and its close ally, the epistemic fallacy with its ontic dual; of the analytic problematic laid down by Plato, which Hegel served only to replicate in his actualist monovalent analytic reinstatement in transfigurative reconciling dialectical connection, while in his hubristi

Really what is the truth about the earth and how we got here?

(Voting Period) 20 billion years ago. Nothingness. Then suddenly some unknown atom massed outwards into space, if only we could get our hands on this "atom", as there was space for this explosion to expand into there had to be time and existing matter there before. According to science outside the universe, it's a void where nothing can exist. So how did anything come together to begin with? So far I would say im being logical. Then the next part is chemical evolution, how and where did all these chemicals get here. Even though iron can't compose anything other than mixed elements other than the ones below it on the reactor chart. like gold silver copper. So as iron is the most reactorable metal how did all these chemicals other that Hydrogin and carbon doxide, iron can not react with anything else other than those two so where did all these other gasses and elements get here? This ruins the theory of the Big Bang, thats all what is here now couldnt have come from such a bang

0.9999 recurring is equal to 1

(Post Voting Period)
Intro

The 0.999 recurring is to mean a continuous stream of nines, ever ending. I assume people know what I mean here. The Pro's burden is simple, to prove that 0.99 recurring is indeed equal to 1. I'm looking to see if there's any challengers out there. And before anyone gets at all tricky (sneaky, making new rules), don't get ridiculously tricky, it's also of course in base 10 that we're talking (no base 16 etc.) . Finally not every dash (-) or such is a minus sign or such.

Case

Let's say we have 2 numbers, A and B

Firstly we times both by 10 - we get 10A and 10B
Then we take 1 of the pronumeral from both 10A and 10B - 9A and 9B

Now, if 9A = 9B then it is fair to simplify and say A=B.

Essentially:

A*10 = 10A
B*10 = 10B
10A - A = 9A
10B - B = 9B

If 9A=9B, A=B

(Voting Period) Hello Daniel, as you know this is Paul and i want to say that i am really sorry for rejecting your debate. The reason was because it's so obvious that landmines are not good and also that the fact i agree in banning landmines. So i decided to make a simpler debate, please except my challenge and people who are going to comment thank you ^^ this is my first debate.

I think that homeschooling should be aloud for the following reasons

1. Educational Freedom
Most students have the choice to study what they want, and when they want.

2.physical Freedom
Without revolving around school hours, homeworks, and the school schedule(the schoo caledar) they can have free time going out for vacation whenever they want live their lives how it works for them
3.Religion Freedom
In schools you cannot study and believe the relgion that you believe, however many people think that relgion plays a very important part of who they are. Also parents can incorporate their b
