Presidential Debate - Airmax1227 VS Larztheloser

(Post Voting Period)
In his recent interview, Airmax offered to debate other candidates on why they would make a better president. Therefore, here I am to make my case!

Hopefully we can have a good, quick debate and give everybody a better overview of where we stand and why we differ in the process.

I'll leave this first round for Airmax to accept, and then we can let the real fun begin!

(Post Voting Period)
The debate will precede as follows, the first round will be acceptation and brief statement of views on topic. (1-3 sentences) The second round is where both sides will put up their main argument (at least 2 paragraphs) You may not rebut what your opponent said in rounds 1 and 2 during the second round. Round 3 will be the rebuttals and closing arguments. Swearing is not allowed. Sources must be cited. Best of luck to my opponent.

*********
I believe that Obama is not a Muslim. The very idea is silly, and I don't think there is a shred of proof to support these theories.

(Post Voting Period)
Hello, I have been on this site for a few months now.
Resolved: Hitler vs Justin Bieber

(Post Voting Period)
After doing thorough research I have failed to find a single debate that addresses the issue of who is more evil, Hitler or Justin Bieber? This is an issue that millions of people ask themselves every day, and it is apalling that this topic has not been debated here on DDO. After making this discovery I realized that as the head troll of the site it is my sworn duty to bring this legendary debate ready to happen into fruition, and I will be arguing that Bieber is indeed worse then Hitler.

This is a complete legit debate (that I intend to troll anyways) and I fully expect this to become the debate of the month here on DDO.

4 rounds
6000 characters
Con may give only an initial statement in his first round, meaning it doesnt have to be acceptance only and con may give a little background info of each person or lay out how he/she will make their case.
<br

Haiku Battle

(Post Voting Period) For this debate it does not matter whether you are con or pro. All that matters is who can write the best Haiku.

Haiku- a major form of Japanese verse, written in 17 syllables divided into 3 lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, and employing highly evocative allusions and comparisons, often on the subject of nature or one of the seasons.

This debate will be 5 rounds. Since a Haiku is focused on seasons this is how the debate will be broken down to.

Haiku must be original from writer no plagiary.

Round 1- acceptance
Round 2- Haiku about Summer
Round 3- Haiku about Fall
Round 4- Haiku about Winter
Round 5- Haiku about Spring

The voter will have to choose based on how well did the writer write about the season. If the writer was able to follow the
5 syllables
7 syllables
5 Syllables
three line format.

May the best Haiku win.

Writers debate: Fiction

(Post Voting Period)

The purpose of this debate will be to intellectually get around the challenges posed by your opponent with each plot twist. At the same time, both writers will focus their skills into making their prose interesting, legible, and well written. "Is this a debate?" some of you may ask. I personally believe a writers debate requires a great amount of skill as it shows a debaters confidence in their speech, and they have to overcome obstacles through the use of creativity, imagination, and wit.

RULES:

1. Each debater will set a plot twist, or a problem for the protagonist to overcome at the end of each round. The opponent will continue off of the story that was instigated, and do their best to make it interesting, and smake sense with the rest of the story. At the end of their round, they too will pose a challenge for the instigator to overcome.

2. This is a tournament debate, so a forfeit will conduct in t

The US Should Have Better Gun Control

(Post Voting Period) I believe that the lack of gun control in the Unites States is a serious danger to the public, in nations with full gun control the homicide rate, armed robbery rate, and suicide rates are much lower.

First Round is for acceptance

Second Round is for initial arguments & rebuttals

Third Round is for further arguments & rebuttals

Fourth Round is final rebuttals & concluding statements only, no new arguments

(Post Voting Period)
I stand in affirmation that you, the contender, just lost the game.

What is the game, you might ask?

Rules of The Game:
1. Everyone is playing the game.
2. If someone thinks about the game, they lose the game.
3. If someone loses the game, they restart and continue to play the game.

Therefore, I instigate the following:

1. My opponent is playing the game.
2. My opponent has just thought about the game.
3.
In general, Sonic Customers should not feel obligated to tip Sonic servers

(Post Voting Period)
For many years, customers in Western European cultures have felt inclined to tip their servers. We've reached a point in society where tips are expected; if not expected, then outright demanded. Some restaurants include an automatic gratuity fee. Some servers react harshly to not receiving what they believe is "owed." I'm sure I could provide countless examples of unjust behavior which many of you would be able to relate to.

Nonetheless, I'm here today to discuss the fast food restaurant officially known as "Sonic Drive-in." [1] Because I firmly believe that tipping servers at this restaurant is unjust and unwise, I strongly affirm the position that Sonic customers who eat at Sonic should not feel obligated to tip Sonic servers.

================================================================
|Debate Rules|
================================================================

By accepting this debate,

Same-Sex Marriage Will Lead to Marriage Involving Animals, Siblings, or Children

(Post Voting Period) My opponent and I will be arguing one of the historic anti-gay marriage debates. The statement is that the allowance of gay marriage can serve as a "gateway" for the allowance of other types of relationships which go against the societal "norm", including animals, children, siblings, corpses, etc, etc. "Marriage" in this debate is defined as a legal and binding relationship recognized by United States government. No semantics arguments.

Skepticism Leads to Atheism

(Post Voting Period) First of all, this is my first debate here. I have never been a fan of any formal debating format, but I'll do my best.

It is my position that an application of skepticism necessarily leads to atheism.
Con's position will be that an application of skepticism need not lead to atheism.

Definitions:

Skepticism: A position of doubt; a claim that the truth of a claim is uncertain [1] [2]
Atheism: The lack of belief in a God or gods [3] [4]
