there is no god

I am a atrong atheist and strongly believe there is no god. i think religion was started a long time ago because people back then simply didnt know any better. science has again and again contradicted religious beliefs. religion started as an easy way to answer earths biggest questions. as science evolved, and some answers came about,religion was turned into a business. for example, mormons have to give up 10% pay. is that really fair? i think it is all jut a way forstory tellers to make money....

•	Abortion	ProComments I'm not pro-abortion, I'm pro-choice. People - not fetuses - have rights. I believe that a fetus becomes a person once the brain has developed to a level of consciousness or can survive on its own.
•	Affirmative Action	ConComments Nay. There are better ways to achieve equality.
•	Border Fence	ConComments It is a very expensive endeavor that introduces new forms of corruption amongst other negative repercussions. It would also not protect against terrorism or significantly hinder illegal immigration.
•	Campaign Finance Reform	ProComments I don't think politicians make political decisions based on who their biggest donations come from.
•	Civil Unions	ProComments I don't care if you call it gay marriage, a civil union, etc. Call it whatever you want. Just grant EQUAL RIGHTS to heterosexual and homosexual couples... even if it's no marriage rights at all. The key issue here is EQUALITY.
•	Death Penalty	ConComments I think it would be most beneficial and perhaps a more moral endeavor to find ways to severely punish harsh criminals and make them contribute back to society, i.e. unpaid harsh physical labor that contributed to society.
•	Drug Legalization	ProComments Criminalizing drugs is infringing on people's rights - not protecting them. Responsible drug use has a lot of known benefits, and the dangers are greatly exaggerated. The war on drugs has been completely unsuccessful and very detrimental!
•	Environmental Protection	ProComments Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize that we can't eat money.
•	Estate Tax	UndComments It's our money. Not the government's money. We reserve the right to pass on our money to whomever or in whatever way we please. Why do we have to pay a tax for dying?
•	Euthanasia	ProComments Your own life is your own property. If you want to destroy it, then by all means, go ahead. Of course morality comes into play when one's mental health and stability is in question.
•	Flag Burning	ProComments Flag burning does not infringe upon the rights of an individual. It is freedom of expression (free speech). It is not anti-Patriotic but instead an example of democracy and patriotism in action. Plus, patriotism is neither right nor responsibility.
•	Flat Tax	ConComments Both the economy and the government would work better under a progressive tax system.
•	Gay Marriage	ProComments Marriage is a social/spiritual contract that should carry with it no legal bearing outside of power of attorney discrepancies, etc. However so long as heterosexual marriage enjoys the privileges of such partnerships, gay marriage should too.
•	Global Warming Exists	ProComments So-called global warming is just a secret ploy by wacko tree-huggers to make America energy independent, clean our air and water, improve the fuel efficiency of our vehicles, kick-start 21st-century industries, and make our cities safer.
•	Gun Rights	ProComments Owning a gun is a right. Hold people accountable for their own actions; don't restrict rights. Plus, owning a gun has been known to successfully deter crime, and, I don't believe in government tyranny.
•	Labor Unions	N/SComments Unions can be beneficial when used as a tool to help negotiate with an employer, but I don't think they should have ridiculous amounts of legal protection and rights... They should be optional and voluntary for every occupation with no guarantees.
•	Late Term Abortion	N/SComments I'm for it legally but not morally.
•	Medicaid & Medicare	ProComments Only for the time being until we can figure out how to cut health care costs. The qualifications for these programs should be limited, obviously, and subject to change.
•	Medical Marijuana	ProComments There is absolutely no reason to be against medical marijuana. It is proven to be effective for medical use the same way other legal drugs (some of which are clearly more harmful) can be helpful. Additionally, see my thoughts on Drug Legalization.
•	Minimum Wage	ConComments It's good in theory but is typically counter-productive.
•	Missile Defense System	N/OComments I believe it is important to prepare ourselves from enemy threats; however, I am highly aware (and in fear) of the Military Industrial Complex.
•	NAFTA	ConComments It results in a crap ton of bad things.
•	National Health Care	ConComments I believe that health care should be available to minors and disabled/handicapped individuals, but perhaps through Medicare/Medicaid instead.
•	National Retail Sales Tax	ConComments The government wouldn't need to tax us so much - including every purchase we make - if they didn't spend so damn much. Stop pumping money to the military, cut the useless pork, and don't tax every single aspect of our lives.
•	Patriotism	N/OComments I think Patriotism is stupid and often used as a tool for brainwashing. However, aside from that, there's really no harm being done in most cases.
•	PETA	N/OComments I am completely apathetic to PETA. Non-human animals don't have rights, but maybe they should. Who knows. As I said, I'm apathetic about this too much to really consider it atm.
•	Police Profiling	N/OComments This term is too non-specific. I'm okay with profiling for looking for known criminals, obviously, but in most cases racial profiling is really fail - especially when it comes to terrorism.
•	President George W. Bush	ConComments STUPID. INCOMPETENT. LIAR. BASTARD. He was also incredibly socially conservative and not fiscally conservative... totally opposite of my beliefs. Regardless, he sucked anyway.
•	Progressive Tax	ProComments A progressive tax system doesn't deter people from wanting to make a profit, and I believe it's the most practical thing to do. The disparity in tax rates shouldn't be ridiculous though.
•	School Vouchers	N/OComments Whatever...
•	Social Programs	ConComments I believe in some social programs but not most.
•	Social Security	UndComments I like the idea, but it's seemingly unsustainable. I'd suggest massive reform, but it's already failed epically. I guess I'm hoping there's some way we can sort of salvage the concept without going bankrupt...
•	Term Limits	N/OComments Who cares. Politicians are all full of shit.
•	Tobacco Rights	ProComments If you're referring to the rights of people to smoke tobacco, then I'm Pro. I'm also Pro about letting private establishments choose whether or not they'd allow smoking. However, I'm opposed to smoking in public places.
•	United Nations	ConComments Again. Politicians are all full of shit. These people don't know wtf they're doing, and it's all political anyway. It's also not helping much (globally) and certainly working against the U.S. in terms of funding.
•	United States	N/SComments I support what the United States stands for, but not necessarily all of its endeavors, especially lately.
•	War in Afghanistan	ConComments Get rid of the Taliban; don't go to WAR in Afghanistan.
•	War in Iran	ConComments Get rid of the dangers with special ops or something. Don't go to war in Iran. That'll make things worse.
•	War in Iraq	ConComments See: Afghanistan and Iran. Plus, Saddam's gone. Get over it.
•	War on Terrorism	N/SComments The U.S. should invest Intelligence into fighting and avoiding terrorism; however, I do not support the "War on Terror" that is meant to use fear tactics to manipulate Americans in supporting false pretenses for war and violates our civil liberties.
•	Water Boarding	ConComments Don't be hypocritical. We either torture or we don't. You say we don't, so yeah. Plus, studies show that in most cases it's completely ineffective. Fail.
•	Welfare	ConComments Welfare is necessary in some cases, but in most cases only perpetuates poverty in the lower class. It provides people with no incentive to work, and most abuse the system. I'm for a leg up, not a hand out... so if it can be reformed, then maybe.
•	World Trade Organization	N/OComments BS.
