There is a large gap of intelligence within UK schools.

It may be my own personal experience but I feel that there is a large gap between the smart people and those not so smart in compulsory education within the UK. In my school there is a division of pupils by intelligence into 'bands'. They are called M, A and Y going in descending order of intelligence.
