About Me:	Former devout Christian and student of theology. I nearly became a pastor. I left a few years ago and now call myself a Daoist (Taoist). •	Barack Obama	ConComments Barack Obama - praised by the liberals for his eloquence and charm while they turn a blind eye to his drone bombings over seas, and his mass surveillance at home. He was no people's champion, and he would have pushed for Universal Healthcare while he could if he was a fraction of what the Dems claim. This is not at all to side with the Republicans. Their criticisms of Obama are largely completely baseless, asinine and/or racist.
•	Border Fence	ConComments Trump's vaunted "wall" would do little to ebb the flow of undocumented immigrants while costing billions. It is pointless, nationalistic and xenophobic chest-pounding. I support a reasonable, fair path to citizenship.
•	Capitalism	ConComments Capitalism is nothing less than the mass-exploitation of workers everywhere. It is theft from the producers of wealth by those seated on top taking credit. It is a dysfunctional, self-contradictory, destruction system that cares nothing for the well-being of the earth or it's people.
•	Civil Unions	Con
•	Death Penalty	ProComments I would likely support the death penalty only in very limited circumstances. I prefer a system hard labor for most of the worst offenders.
•	Drug Legalization	ProComments I STRONGLY support the legalization of Cannabis. The current attitude towards this plant in much of the "developed" world is completely anti-science. Current policies are based on greed, desire for control, and ignorance.
•	Electoral College	ConComments The Electoral College EXISTS to override democracy. I have opposed it since I learned about it in-depth over a decade ago.
•	Environmental Protection	ProComments From a scientific perspective, we literally ARE a part of the planet. We depend on it completely for our existence, and it behooves us as the most intelligent species on the earth to take care of it. If not out of empathy, then out of self-preservation. Anyone who opposes protecting the environment is expressing an opinion so asinine that it should be considered a sign of mental illness (and I do NOT say this as an attempt to poke fun, U am quite serious).
•	Estate Tax	ProComments Concentrations of wealth should not be protected.
•	European Union	Und
•	Euthanasia	ProComments Those who are terminally ill should be allowed to end their lives. Their lives are their own.
•	Federal Reserve	ConComments I support the nationalization of the banks. The Federal Reserve is a private entity laden with corruption, and should be dismantled.
•	Flat Tax	ConComments The Flat Tax is backwards. In the existing market economy, people should be required to pay taxes proportionate to their income.
•	Free Trade	ConComments "Free Trade" under neoliberal capitalism really means "free exploitation". I am completely opposed to it. It is vile.
•	Gay Marriage	ProComments There is absolutely no valid, reasonable argument against gay marriage. The LGBTQ community are every bit as human as the rest of us, and they deserve the same rights and protections.
•	Global Warming Exists	ProComments It absolutely, unquestionably does exist. Stances against the existence of Climate Change (the proper terminology) are going DIRECTLY against the findings of the scientific community in favor of trusting the word of the fossil fuel industry who have been proven to be liars repeatedly (outside of the common sense that they will say anything they can get away with to maximize their profits).

•	Gun Rights	ProComments I support the right to bear arms. I do, however, believe in implementing more oversight and certain, minor restrictions.
•	Homeschooling	ProComments I am fine with homeschooling, to a certain extent. I was briefly homeschooled as a child and I was provided with a quality education by my mother. Many parents, however, use homeschool as an excuse to force anti-scientific propaganda based on biases and pure fiction. I believe in more oversight for home education.
•	Internet Censorship	ConComments I am against censoring the internet. It is a place for freedom of expression. The only exception I would make is for hate speech (the blatant white supremacy that thrives on Twitter for example).

•	Labor Union	ProComments The brave men and women of Unions have given countless gains to the working class. It is a disgrace that the US "Left" has so completely abbandoned Union efforts in recent years. Nearly no workers who work for private companies are unionized. I find this very discouraging, as it allows for a great deal of abuse and exploitation of worker by boss.

•	Military Intervention	ConComments I oppose US Imperialism, which is what I assume this is about.
•	Minimum Wage	ProComments Without a minimum wage, the rich would be even freer to run roughshod over the poor. Workers would be forced to work for smaller scraps, while the employers became richer and more comfortable.
•	National Health Care	ProComments Healthcare is a Human Right, and it should be guaranteed by a Constitutional amendment. No one should go without care. No one.
•	National Retail Sales Tax	ConComments Sales taxes are far harder on the poor, who are already struggling. We need taxes that target the wealthy.
•	Occupy Movement	Pro
•	Progressive Tax	ProComments All should be made to pay according to their ability to pay.
•	Racial Profiling	ConComments A ridiculous and extremely racist practice that only serves to deepen and inflame hatred. It leads to more violence against, and harassment of, innocent people of color.
•	Redistribution	ProComments Redistribution from the wealthy to the poor is necessary when working within capitalism to achieve even a modicum of economic justice.
•	Smoking Ban	Con
•	Social Programs	ProComments Anyone who is completely opposed to "social programs" in general. Is advocating Social Darwinism.
•	Social Security	Pro
•	Socialism	ProComments Those who produce should have the fruit of their labor. A truly just system is needed to guarantee the needs of all are met and their rights upheld. That system is socialism, in one form or another.
•	Stimulus Spending	ProComments It can be helpful. Ideally though, we should move away from capitalism.
