Books: | Critique of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant and all other books by him.
Anything by Arthur Schopenhauer
Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, more particularly, The Vampire Lestat (He's my favorite character I relate to the most)
The Neverending Story by Michael Ende (I read it as a young child and still love it, especially its themes)
All books by Paul Henri D'Holbach
Although not a book but the Anti-Federalist papers
Anything by Frederic Bastiat
Again, I know this isn't a book per se but Voltaire's dictionary volumes are excellent!
All of William Blake's poetry.
Any horror story by Clive Barker is also great, much better in my opinion than say Stephen King (although I will say that his books, Christine, Cujo, and Pet Semetary were pretty good). Particularly, Clive Barker's Books of Blood are the best!
"As a Man Thinketh" by James Allen
"Faust" as well as many of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe works.
Any book by Richard Dawkins or Sam Harris as well as Antonio Damasio |
Movies: | The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, 10 Things I Hate About You (anything with Julia Stiles), Jumanji, Bring It On, Mean Girls, Thirteen, Hannibal, White Chicks, Legally Blonde, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, The Neverending Story (yes guilty pleasure), Queen of the Damned (I loved it despite the fact it's hardly like the book; plus as a bonus, Stuart Townsend is super hot), About Adam, Miss Congeniality, Never Been Kissed, The Nutty Professor (great comedy),The Anchorman, Liar Liar, Men in Black, The Babysitter's Club, The Harry Potter Movies, The Company (ballet movie), Perfect Body, A Secret Between Friends, For the Love of Nancy, The New Guy (good comedy), Love and Basketball, The Underworld, Interview With a Vampire (much more accurate than QOD, but I think the acting was on the same level), all of the Lord of the Rings, Freaky Friday (the old version with Jodie Foster in it), anything with Jodie Foster, Fast Food Nation Documentary, Sweet Poison Documentary, and Thin Documentary. |
