Christianity does not support determinism

Aziar44

Free will and determinism have been debated back and forth for centuries. But I wonder which one is better suited for Christianity. To me, it seems as though free will is a better match for Christianity. The Bible says that we have the choice to turn away from or accept God and Jesus and there are numerous other examples where it seems as though we have free will. I don't want to get too much into the free will vs. determinism debate directly, just which viewpoint is more compatible with Christi...

The US Government shall lower the drinking age requirement to 19.

nickman

It is true you can do many things under the age of nineteen, such as drive a car at age sixteen, buy cigarettes at eighteen, and sign up for the US Military, in which you can die for your Country, also at the age of eighteen. So you can be held accountable to drive a machine with potentially deadly repercussions, you can be given the choice of ruining your body with cigarettes, and you can go fight in a war, and in most cases kill an enemy - who chances are, had the legal ability to drink. These...

evolution is wrong

Cooperman88

There are too many problems with many of the claims evolutionists use to justify their beliefs. Take for example the fossil record. There is an enormous gap between the simpler organisms and the more complex organisms. There is also a problem with their theory of how birds evolved. The example most defenders of evolution use is that of the archaeopteryx. while it looks like it is half reptile half bird, scientists who study such things say that it was closer to a flightless bird much like our ow...

Over 59% of abortion cases happen prior to the 9th week of pregnancy(1). My argument will rest on maintaining that abortion is morally permissible at least up to nine weeks into the pregnancy. 1. http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/fb_induced_abortion.html...

Lib's have hi-jacked this website.

dulinl

I think it's pretty obvious. Reviewing many of these debates you find ppl will ignore argument and vote what they view. I've seen many cases were ppl have added argument in their comment justifying their vote. Adding argument clearly shows that when they were voting they added that into the equation, distorting the out come. I say that Lib's are guilty of this because they think with their hearts. So, they do things that are not in the spirit of the competition because the ends justify the m...

Gay marriage

Ross
dulinl

Gay marriages ought to be allowed because we need to respect them at rational and consenting human beings with the right to life liberty and property. Moreover, the right to marry does not impede our rights in any way and therefore it is not the governments place to prevent equal treatment. Furthermore, the tradition of marriage has been a fluent and evolving beast that will not be deteriorated by the allowance of free individuals to commit to each other in the name of love and commitment....
