Social networking sites are absolutely good for our society. We are now able to stay connected with a much larger number of people than in the past, when the primary way of staying in touch was by telephone. This makes it easier to plan events (on Facebook just start an event and invite people you're Friends with), gather information ("I'm visiting Boston next week, any of you guys live in Boston and have recommendations for where to stay or eat?"), and even buy/sell items ("I'm moving next week...
