Biblical accounts prove God is not loving.

Blessed-Cheese-Maker
DATCMOTO

For this debate, I will assume that God exists and that the bible is accurate and literal in its depictions of events, but not in its claims about the nature of God. Christians like my opponent continually make statements about the nature of God as loving with the assumption that it is a common truth. I argue that the bible makes a very strong case against this assumption. Yes there are statements in the bible proposing that God is love, but there are far more examples of the behavior of G...

Exodus 7-12(the Egyptian Plagues) demolishes the Christian Doctrine of Free Will

Blessed-Cheese-Maker
InquireTruth

I argue that God's interaction with Pharaoh in the Exodus story, specifically relating to the Plagues and Pharaoh's reaction to them negates the commonly accepted Christian doctrine of Free Will. God intentionally hardened Pharaoh's heart negating his free will and creating cause for all humans to question the free will doctrine. (As a simultaneous sidebar debate I will be attempting to prove that God's action towards Pharaoh, was immoral as it was designed to result in the death of innoc...

Is school uniform more beneficial for students?

jihan_kim
Blessed-Cheese-Maker

The reason that I oppose the school unifrom the most is that it can limit the students' individuality and freedom of expression. Also, even though many people say that school uniforms save the money, it's actually not as parents need to buy additional clothes for students as they need something to wear outside school. And this can cause even bigger financiial burden to the students and their families. Also, even though wearing school uniforms may show equality and unity, there are still many cha...

Religious doctrine of inherent evil is incredibly harmful to mankind.

Blessed-Cheese-Maker
The_Devils_Advocate

I submit, that religious and more specifically Christian doctrine of the inherent evil of mankind, is bad for mankind. The belief that mankind is inherently evil, as a result of sin, is responsible for division, family dispute, negative expectation and even war and genocide in some cases. It causes normally good people, to behave incredibly poorly towards others, and to expect the worst from others, and the future. Christians argue that evil is evident and to be expected, I argue that an e...
