American voters ought not be concerned with a candidate's religious affiliation


I believe that American voters place too much emphasis on the religious affiliation of political candidates. While a good "Christian" president may try to influence the supreme court to end abortion, they may also be bombing and killing around the world. Politicians often claim a Christian background, but American politics are rather unchristian.


I've heard many political conservatives invoke God's blessing on our nation and on our troops. Unfortunately, there's nothing Godly or Christian about the pro-war position conservatives often gravitate to. Many political liberals are also guilty of this same inconsistency, but I feel conservatives are more war-prone than liberals. Jesus instructed us to love our enemies and do good to them. Instead, we ask for God's blessing as we bomb and destroy our enemies -- actions that I believe no TRUE...
