Are the people abusing their power and forcing companies' hands about useless issues?

mrtimn

I have seen many news reports about pathetically stupid complaints to department stores and the Government in general. People are complaining about JCPenny advertisements, stating that they are insulting the poor. Isn't that the whole point of a retail store? To appeal to people with money? There were people people complaining about one of Dr. Phil's posts on Twitter asking a question on the subject of drunk sex. They forced him to take it down. This may be my first debate on this site but I hope I do this right. As the topic says I support the idea of state controlled militia because of political uneasiness in the U.S.A . If the each state had it own militia then the threat from the unknowns of the governments intention. Also if each state had its own militia then the government wouldn't have to spend so much money on the defense budget. The state's could also use the militia to do policing and security work....

The Global War on Terror is a Worthwhile Response to Acts of Terror

DeFool
TheAwesomeRuler

A recent round of high alerts and embassy closings, inspired by media savvy criminals, has caused millions of Americans to begin collectively fan-girling in abject terror. "Omigodomigod honey, a terrorist! Get the broom!" Eeek. Causing the home of the brave to puddle itself in fear has become a sort of low-hanging fruit for "terrorists" worldwide. The American media, ever watchful for high-paying hyperbolic hysteria, does its best to advertise for these criminals, and America cons...

The US vs China (war game debate)

wrichcirw

This debate is an attempt at arm-chair general skills. In this contest, we will war-game a hypothetical scenario in which the United States fights a "Total War" with the republic of China. Both sides are confident of an eventual US Victory, so the object is not to argue from the standpoint of battlefield victory. The Scenario The war game will include the following assumptions. In all cases, the fewest number of unsupported assumptions is considered the "best case."-All military equipm...

Should the government censor the Internet to prevent Internet crimes?

jane_eyre
DeFool

In my opinion, the government should censor the Internet to prevent Internet crimes. Some children are exposed to violent and indecent sites or scenes on the Internet. There should be some limits like blokcing sites or suff like that. Also, there are instructions on how to build bombs and how to make drugs online. To prevent any problems, the government should censor and delete those instructions....
