•	Abortion	ProComments You can't "kill someone" who doesn't even have birthday yet. Sure, aborting a fetus that's deep in development (such as when it has a human-like figure) could be screwed up and very bloody, but prior to that, especially when it's just a group of cells or an individual embryo, we're talking about scraping a petri dish of a "human being" here. The problem of single mothers being so common in America is huge in-part because of the popularity of being pro-life...when in fact, those people are letting their [usually] religious beliefs get in the way of their quality of life. Children are expensive, time-consuming, stressful, and, no matter how much unconditional love may exist for them, are a burden without admission by most parents single or not. If a woman or couple feels that it's not right to have a child, then abortion should be an option.

•	Drug Legalization	ProComments Let's face it: the government honestly shouldn't have any damned say in what people put into their bodies. And with the War on Drugs on it's continual swing of things, people are still using drugs just as they had before...only the ball game is much worse. Cartels and drugs as a commodity have exploded in size, value, and associated prevalence with violence and crime. Kurzgesagt has a beautiful video that illustrates the whole situation, with colorful animation too. And I agree with everything that's discussed in it; Americans and people at large need to attain a far better understanding of what an addiction actually is (not merely an eternal craving, but a deeply-rooted disease that is difficult to recover from). I believe that any criminal who commits crimes while high/possessing drugs should have enhanced charges (an antonymous example being "Honors" labels for class grades), but possession alone should never be illegal. We need more mental help for addicts who are willing for it.

•	Flat Tax	ProComments I know many liberal people who believe in a progressive tax, but a flat tax is perhaps the most liberal tax scheme on income there is. It treats everyone equally. If it were 15% through the Federal government, it means 15% of Joe's $30,000 and 15% of Bill's $1 billion. Whether rich or poor, the proportion, the share of responsibility for society and the government is equalized. Such a system would likely mean that the Federal government would have to downsize, but it isn't really clear by how much. The government is too big anyway! So to me, the issue isn't whether or not the poor can be accommodated by a flat tax, like with a progressive tax; it's whether or not society is willing to be just with all of its citizens. We can mitigate and destroy poverty in far more meaningful, lasting, and effective ways than with our current state of affairs levying billions of dollars for a sinking welfare yacht.

•	Minimum Wage	UndComments My position is mainly that I am against minimum wage. Does that mean I actually am? Well, it's complicated. I work for minimum wages, and I'm sure anyone lacking in profitable skills certainly benefits a lot when they are guaranteed a minimum payment. Yet a people must wonder what their priorities are, right? In America, I think we would be better off, and more prosperous, if we were to foster a higher priority on meaningful pay for the impoverished masses (rather than a minimum pay). The reality is that we have a minimum wage, and we inadvertently set the bar so low for people that they're willing to spend their lives lulling away at the thought that they'll be flipping more burgers than they'll ever be able to save for a reasonable retirement. What we ought to foster instead is a culture aimed at career employment -- giving an earned associate's degree's worth of college for free so that Americans can expect to gain skills that yield a decent living.
