Beliefs:I don't know why my religion isn't represented on here, I closely resemble the ideologies of Humanism, and seek ways to preserve our(persons) individualism while accepting our differences to cooperate towards higher levels of achievement for all mankind. I believe that mankind must look towards ourselves to drive our purpose and destiny. I do not say that Gods are real or unreal, only that it doesn't matter. I also believe in Lockean theory, and that the three unalienable right's are the highest priority in civil protection.

Ethics of Mass Effect #1 - The Rachni

I decided to start this, much in the same line of bsh1's Star Trek debates, to start a series of debates about Mass Effect. I love Mass Effect not only because of the rich storyline but also because of the tough ethical questions and dilemmas that the game forces you to face down and confront. This debate series is intended to replicate those questions and debate about the proper course of action between the two options that the game presents to you. Background Information:In Mass Effect 1,...

Human Modification

With the rapidly growing pace of technology in Bio-engineering and Robotics, scientists are finding new ways to overcome disabilities that in years prior would have been permanent. The legal age to purchase/consume/possession of alcohol should not be lowered in the United States

Before I get into the parameters, I just want to point out that I want to learn how debate and refute arguments better. That being said, I'm new to this format so I may leave out things in my parameters that more experienced Debaters would probably capitalize on. So I encourage a Debater who is very skilled, at the same time if my performance fa...

I'm going to be arguing that dogs are better companions than cats. My reasons for believing this are as following: 1. Dogs can be heroes. Not only do dogs have the ability to sense when their owner is in danger and help them, seizure-alert dogs can detect and warn their owner when they are about to have a seizure. They are also often used to find missing people, detect bombs and drugs, and track down criminals. 2. Dogs make you laugh. In a pilot study done by the Animals and Societ...
