Is Homosexuality a Sin?

justthefacts
Juris

Prerequisite: This debate is ONLY for those that believe in sin. If you are an atheist, or some other religion who doesn't believe in sin, this is a moot point. Introduction: The mainstream media ( news and talk radio ) would have us believe that most Christians in America have come to an agreement that homosexuality is not a sin. Invitation: Are you a Christian who believes that homosexuality is not a sin? Argument: The Bible clearly states that Homosexuality is a sin, in the old and...

Smoking Ban

Complicated_Mind
Juris

As my first real debate, I'd like to discuss why I am for the smoking ban. As I am PRO, I am in favor of a smoking ban, while CON will be against a smoking ban. If CON wants any definitions I will be happy to give one, however I believe all terms used thus far are self explanatory.

do people sue too much?

a0l0x

I think that people launch lawsuits for very ridiculously stupid reasons. these lawsuits only create lots of anxiety and are actually hurting people in many areas. (For example, Billy's school won't let him play at recess because he has autism and the school district doesn't want to get sued because he may hurt another kid) I think there needs to be better, more restrictive, limits on these lawsuits....

A doctor"s function has changed over time. In the past, the doctor was a person who besides being your friend treated the diseases. Now a doctor is a stranger who combats diseases, but he/she is not always your friend. What will never change is their constant struggle against death. However, their job is not only to prevent death but also to improve their patient"s quality of life. Many times there is nothing a doctor can do to prevent a patient from dying if the patient has a terminal disease;...

unilateral military force by the United States is justified to prevent nuclear proliferation

Blakeypooter
Juris

Have you ever heard of the word "obligation"? Obligation means an act or course of action to which a person is morally or legally bound; a duty or commitment. The United States has an obligation to prevent nuclear proliferation. It is our job to use military force to protect the United States. That is why I know that unilateral military force by the United States is justified to prevent nuclear proliferation. Nuclear proliferation is the greatest threat to world peace. Paul D. Miller, assistan...

U.S. schools should teach comprehensive, sex-positive sex education instead of abstinence

KaleBevilacqua
Juris

I would love to have a friendly debate with someone on this issue. This is an issue, because currently, [1]-37 states require that sex education include abstinence, with 26 of those requiring that abstinence be stressed as the ideal.-Only 13 states require that sex education be medically accurate.-Eight states require that it be culturally appropriate and unbiased.-Only two states have laws agains...
