.999999999(repeating) is equal to 1

.999... is equal to one. First i would like to represent this using digit manipulation... x=.999... 10x=9.999... 10x-x=9.999...-.999... 9x=9 x=1 .999...=1 Now, .999... can be explained through an infinite series where, .999... is a sum with a common ratio (1/10), so .999...=9(1/10)+9(1/10)(squared)+9(1/10)(cubed) +....=[(9(1/10)/(1-(1/10))]=1 Also, using fractions, 1/3=.33... 2/3=.66... so thus, 3/3=.99... .333...=1/3 3*.333...=3*(1/3) =3*1/(1/3) .999...=1 .111=1/9 9*.111...=...

The USFG should ensure the welfare of families living in poverty

I am PRO in this debate; I will be arguing that the topic above is true. God is a Racist

"For you are a holy people to your God, and God has chosen you to be his treasured people from all the nations that are on the face of the earth." Deuteronomy 14:2. Since the Jews are God's "Chosen People" it follows that non-Jewish people will not be accepted into Heaven. This is racist, because an Amazonian Indian, for example, who had never come into contact with anyone from the outside world, would be condemned to an eternity in Hell for the sin of being born in a South American jungle...

Outsourcing labor is a serious danger to America's economy and needs to be dealt with.

Frithaes. There aren't nearly enough debates about outsourcing on this website and I thought I'd fix that. Outsourcing is a simple enough concept. If an American company outsources all but its top tier, say 10% of its workers, the managers and corporate leaders and whatnot, then all the money spent on its product either goes to the foreign workers or to that top tier. (And possibly the stock holders but I'll address that later.) The top tier (managers and the like) will give back to the count...

Educators should not strive for objectivity.

First, let me make it clear that I am only talking about educators of people old enough to have their own thoughts. Say, high-school age and above. I am not talking about educators of young children who are susceptible of treating everything they hear from an adult as incontrovertible fact. Nearly everyone believes that educators ought to be objective and to teach only the facts without injecting their own personal views. They denigrate teachers who use the classroom as their own soapbox wit...
