About Me:I'm 40 years old, have a son, and work in the education field. I have lived life to the fullest, and have no regrets; although I have made some mistakes along the way. Those mistakes I view as life's lessons, and have used them to grow as a person. In many ways I'm unorthodox, and often use unconventional methods to achieve my goals. I love looking at things from a view point that is outside my experiences and understanding. I like to think outside the box. I'm fascinated with the behavior of all people, and their religion, culture, and history. I have little artistic talent, but appreciate all of the arts. I love stimulating conversations and banter. I will always encourage people to see things from another perspective...I guess you can say I like playing the devil's advocate. I have worked in different types of businesses and held many positions along the way. I love to travel.
Beliefs:I once was a democrat, became a republican, and now I will not be pigeonholed. My religious beliefs are my own. Some may say that I'm a Christian; others an agnostic or universalist. I believe that everyone, since birth, has been given natural rights. Those rights are to enjoy and do whatever you please, as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights and well being of others. No one, including myself, has no right to tell, or demand, that another person has to live up to my expectations and beliefs.
Books:The Tao Te Ching I love the genre of Eastern European and Russian literature from the 1800s through early 1900s, existentialist authors, and fiction that involves the human psyche. I also like to read peer reviewed articles. Oh, how can I forget Dr. Seuss. He may be viewed as a children's writer, but when really reading his stories, you'll see that he's really writing about life and society.
Movies:I don't have time to list them all.
Music:I like listening to everything, except opera.
Quotes:It's not hard to make a positive difference in someone's life...All you have to do is take the time, make an effort, and show some concern, kindness and compassion. ~Me

Water is the softest thing, yet it can penetrate mountains and earth. This shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness. ~Lao-Tzu

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. ~Dr. Seuss

People always think something's all true. ~J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

The struggle itself towards the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy. ~Albert Camus, The Myth of Sisyphus

Gay Marriage

Gay Marriage is now legal, Yay! I am for gay marriage, if two people from the same-sex are in love and want to spend the rest of their lives together like any other couple, it should not be a problem. Well its the law now. Having said that, I don't think I will be ok if my children grow up and want to marry the same sex. It probably makes me sound like I have double standards but what would you guys do? Lets debate!...

Steve Young is a Better Quarterback than Joe Montana

Steve Young is the better quarterback because he has a 96.8 QB Rating (1), whereas Joe Montana only has a 92.3 (2). Steve Young also has fewer career interceptions, more rushing touchdowns, and a higher passing completion rate than Joe Montana. After seeing both players perform in person and on television, it is clear to me that Steve Young is superior in his athletic capabilities, and his quarterbacking skills....

the catholic church officially teaches nonbaptized infants go to hell

the only teachings that might say otherwise, are fallible, nonauthoritative statements. the church might currently unoffically teach the issue is open to speculation, but officially they have already made a decision. remember to be authoritative, it has to be the pope, intentionally, teaching, the church, on faith and morals. private letters, presentations to limited audiences etc, theological commissions, do not count. just some examples: Council of Florence Session 11 (Bull Cantate Domin...

The United States should stay out of wars against ideas and concepts and focus on domestic issues.

The last three wars the U.S. has waged are the Cold War (including the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts), the War on Drugs, and the Global War on Terrorism. The United States would be better off not fighting wars on ideas and concepts. The money used for these wars would have been, and could be, better spent on domestic issues. I will be arguing the anti-war on concepts and ideas (pro) side, while the con side will be arguing that the US is, and has been, better off engaging in these wars against...

Why ban the Confederate flag if you don't ban the whole south ?

Most of us fellow southerners have the Confederate flag tattoo does that mean you are going to ban us from the south too along with our flag? The whole purpose of the flag is symbolization of history in which African Americans were involved under also this isn't a racist act, the flag didn't cause the incident in South Carolina it was the human beings thought process. I have the tattoo and I work at a prison I would say that am mentally there, objects do not make people do disturbing things like...
