About Me:Hello, my name is Ember. I am a proud Slytherpuff and I love cats. I don't like it when people think that because I am young I am not mature. People have told me that I have a literary gift and I want to put it to good use here. I don't have a certain style of debating like some people do, I normally just go with the flow of things and say what I want to say. I am trying to become an actress and a lawyer, I do not really know why I choose two completely opposite things, but that is what I want to be in the near future. Thanks for checking out my profile, see ya later! Bye.
Activities:I like to play Minecraft, read books, and I like to do sports. I am hoping to start playing the violin soon and I love to sing. I am really into acting, it is my greatest passion.
Beliefs:I believe in a God. I know that he loves me and that he has a plan for me. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or as most people know us as, a Mormon. I follow the teachings of our prophet and I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book that was translated by the first prophet of our dispensation, Joseph Smith Jr. If you ever wish to debate me on this topic, I will stand firm and testify of what I believe in.
Books:My favorite books are dystopian with drama and a touch of romance. The Hunger Games, Divergent and The Matched trilogy are amazing dystopian books. My very favorite at the moment is called The House on Mango Street, by Sandra Cisneros. This book has a unique set of vignettes in which Cisneros shows how everyone is different and how we should be proud of our otherness and what makes us, us. Another good one, that expresses that some kids are more mature than you think is Ender's Game. I can relate to this book personally because I think we should value maturity over age.
Movies:I love Moana, Trolls, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (Isn't Eddie Redmayne so hot?!?! Plus he's Hufflepuff! In real life and in the movie!), Sing, and pretty much and Disney movie. I also like She's the Man, Star Wars, Lord of The Rings, Hobbit, and many more!
Music:I love Christian pop, regular pop, and some country. I am addicted to Moana and Trolls, now that the movies have come out, so I listen to their soundtrack most of the time.
Quotes:I have a TON of favorite quotes, so I'll only put a few...

This is my favorite serious quote:
"Never again clutter your days and nights with so many menial and unimportant things that you have no time to except a real challenge when it comes along. This applies to play as well as work. A day merely survived is no cause for celebration. You are not here to fritter away your precious hours when you have the ability to accomplish so much by making slight changes in your routine. No more busy work. No more hiding from success. Leave time, leave space to grow." Og Mandino

This is my favorite funny quote:
"Whenever you are sad, just remember there's an idiot on the other side of the world, pulling a door that says PUSH in big, bright red, bold letters." Anonymous

Another serious quote that applies to debating:
"Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance." Confusious
Sports Teams:I'm a complete BYU fan. Don't ask me what my favorite NFL team is, I don't have one.
TV Shows:I like Avatar: The Last Airbender (the only anime [ I consider it anime] that I will watch), Person of Interest, and a lot of Disney shows. I am a HUGE fan of clean crime shows. I do watch Criminal Minds, (I think I'm addicted).

Eating cats should be legal

Looking to debate someone who already accepts the legality of eating other forms of meat. Debate format: Round 1- Acceptance and state stances Round 2- Opening arguments (No rebuttals) Round 3- Rebuttals Round 4- Final rebuttals and conclusions Stance: I believe that the US government should allow the consumption and retail of cat flesh as food. POI 1: I do not believe the federal government should mandate that states allow this but I would argue that all state governments should pr...

Cats are better that Dogs.

Cats are better than dogs. First of all, cats need less room. Dogs need room to run around and play, cats on the other hand, could live with you in a studio apartment and never want more. Dogs need space to get active and if you put them in a small space they will get restless and not be the happy little puppy you want them to be. Cats cost less to get and to feed, they don't NEED toys unless you want to give them toys. Dogs need things to chew and, not all, but a large majority chew throu...

Books are essential for life.

Okay, so I don't mean essential in a life or death kind of way. I mean it as in it is important for your future. Books, whether fiction or nonfiction, fantasy, dystopian, or any other, all help you gain knowledge. "The more I read, the more I know, the more I know the smarter I grow, the smarter I grow the stronger my voice in expressing a view or making a choice." What are your views on this topic?...

Should phones be allowed at school (during class)?

Students should not be allowed to have phones out during their classes at school. It can be used at a way of cheating, a distraction, a disruption, and possibly cyber bullying. More than a third of teens admit to using cell phones to cheat. " The poll, conducted by The Benenson Strategy Group, revealed that more than 35% of teens admit to cheating with cell phones, and more than half admit to using the Internet to cheat." (1) "...phones and tablets distract students, compromising their le...

In what way should Marijuana be legalized?

My side is that marijuana should only be legalized for medical use because it can be used for medical purposes. It can treat: Muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis Nausea from cancer chemotherapy Poor appetite and weight loss caused by chronic illness, such as HIV, or nerve pain Seizure disorders Crohn's disease But it also has side effects. Legalizing it for not only medical purposes, would not be a good thing....
