About Me:Studying International Commerce and Finance and going into a career in trade and business. Coming from an academic family I'm considering doing a Phd in one of my fields of study later in life, though currently I'm terribly bored at university. I'm hyper rational, so don't expect empathy from me, and I approach everything extremely logical and evidence based.
Activities:I enjoy questioning peoples' morals and beliefs, especially when it's not appropriate or angers them. I play Badminton, read a lot and watch many documentaries, a whole lots of stock, finance and business stuff, doing formula calculation, stuff like that... Basically I'm quite boring... To 'normal' people at least..
Beliefs:I don't believe in God, but only because nobody can prove it. And even if, I find the notion of worship pathetic, and observing our world, a god that created this world with all its suffering does not deserve worship or respect in any case. Politically I'm somewhat of a 'right-wing libertarian', as I'm a big free-market supporter. I still see a role for government and some welfare, but so much money is wasted by ineffective government practices.
Books:As a kid in primary school I mainly read biology and science books for high school. In fact, one of my favourite books to date is my beloved text book of physics from the 1940's. For some reason I stopped reading enjoyable books quite a few years ago, as I used to read a lot of fiction..... So I mainly read analytical books on issues. Or I walk through the library and pick out anything that seems interesting, in an effort to educate myself as good as I can and to acquire knowledge on a broad spectrum. So mainly books no one else will ever look at.
Movies:Saving Private Ryan, Inglorious Basterds, Good Will Hunting, Finding Forrester, Wolf of Wallstreet
Music:I don't really listen to music for enjoyment.
Quotes:Science doesn't produce facts, it produces evidence

Politics are not as complex as people like to make them seem

The mass of humans are stupid

'I ain't seen nothing change.' 'You ain't seen nothing? What the hell kind of sentence is that?'

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Sports Teams:I don't really go for sports teams. I enjoy playing sports more.
TV Shows:I don't really watch TV.... It's too uneducated for my taste. I enjoy watching documentaries, business, and political content videos on youtube.

A ban on Youth Football for kids under the age of 14

WAM

I think that there should be a ban on youth football for children under the age of 14 because it can cause health problems and mental injuries. Concussions are a leading cause of dimension. Up to 3.8 million kids get concussions each year. This is a major problem that can be easily solved. Putting a ban on the sport can easily solve the problem of getting to many conclusions. In my school there are usually 5 or so concussions each year that are caused during youth football season. After the age...

Free Will cannot logically be possible.

Oppenheimer1934
WAM

The Grandfather Paradox is as states: If you were to go back in time and kill your own grandfather, you would cease to exist. If you cease to exist, you grandfather would be spared. If the option of travelling back in time were given, you would not be able to logically take it. Going back in time would disrupt the future, which completely disables the idea of free will. This means that time is a completely straight path, and therefore cannot be altered. Einstein's general relativity genera...

Should 3rd graders and younger be allowed to watch the news?

Glitter2998
WAM

My sister who's in 3rd grade loves to watch the news. But as the days go on, more crap is being put on the news. My sister is very sensitive. She is having nightmares about ISIS coming to the US and killing her and her family. This is all because she watches the news at school. We do not watch it at home anymore....

Biological weapons are a fallacy

Akhenaten
WAM

I propose that biological weapons can never be made because germs do not cause disease. Biological weapons have never been used in a battle situation in the history of mankind. Reason - they don't work!...
