So whoever joins this debate hello! So my first contention is how AI will decrease jobs.

Richard Fuller once said, "Humanity is acquiring all the right technology for all the wrong reasons". This means we have great technology, But we are taking advantage of it. With new AI technologies, It will create a serious plummet in jobs. Yes, AI will create jobs, But most, If not all, Will go to higher class workers like Engineers. The people who really need get even lower pay and it becomes even more dangerous than their previous job. 20 million to 40 million innocent people's jobs in peril because we want to be the better country and have robots making our morning coffees. 47% of jobs will be lost to AI and other developments in technology, Leading kids and adults to starve because AI is doing it "for them", Pushing more in more people into poverty. Instead of having the government spend billions on this emotionless robot, They should spend it on enhancing our lives, Like donating it to poor countries like Indonesia and India.

I think that the fact that we have made so many improvements with technologies it will replace jobs, But it will also improve other aspects of life. Ex: we can have self driving cars. If taxi become driver less, It will save money for the companies because they won't have to pay the drivers.

Also we can communicate with other people from around the world much easier with technologie. You are looking at it to narrowly without considering the immense improvements. All actions have consequences but its okay if most effects are positive because we are still moving forward.

Hi! Thanks for joining.

Rebuttal: For your example of taxi drivers, There are millions of taxi drivers and they will all just lose their jobs. The government already will spend millions on just a few AI machines and there are again, Millions of taxi drivers in the world, So it would actually cost more. As for communicating with others, We can just use phones and laptops that cost a lot less than AI.

Next contention: AI can increase cyber attacks. If hackers get their hands on these, It will be very dangerous. Almost 99% of attacks can't be stopped. I will give two examples of ways they can attack us. One way is something called a mobile bot farm. Mobile bot farms are when AI robots are enabled on to thousands of devices, And trying to appear human-like. AI machines call people, Pretending to sound like a friend (they can replicate voices), And asking for money. Concluding it making it harder to tell if you are in fact speaking with a human or robot. Another method is called "card-not-present-fraud" and that is when a payment is made with a credit card number without the need of the cardholder present during the transaction.

With regards to cons argument. I say argument cause he doesn't bring any good point other than jobs.

Let me ask you this. When cars were made did we stop them from doing it cause carriage drivers would lose their jobs? No. When computers were made, Did you stop them cause millions of back office personnel would be retrenched? No, When email was developed did we stop then cause the post industry would take a hit? No.

Yes agreed AI will cost jobs and only create more advanced jobs such as engineers. But that should not hold the
technological industry and the human race's progress back. Technological Advances will always cost people their jobs. Its on those people to skill themselves. We do not need carriage drives anymore. Its up to the carriage driver to skill himself for a job. The rest of the human race can't be held back because some people cannot upskill themselves. Even if the UN has to skill them up or the government has to skill them up. Point is the rest of us can't be stopped from having a better life just cause the people that have low paying jobs become obsolete.
