My argument, in a nutshell, is that so called "anarcho-capitalists" are ideologically opposed to the political theory of anarchism, and that while they are against certain types of authority, they actually are in favor of others. Anarchism is not just opposition to the state, it also includes opposition the all forms of unjustified authority.

This depends on you definition on anarchy. Anarchy has a very negative connotation, but Capitalism is not negative in any way. So for my purpose I will define anarchy as a society without government. In an Ancap society the government is the free market. So no Ancap is not true anarchy because it has a form of government, that being the free market.

We don't just stop at dictionary definitions when defining terms in political theory but...

The origin of the word comes from the from the Greek word anarkhos. Which just means without rulers. The word "rulers" does not just apply to governments.

In anarchism, authority is not self justifying, as such; it should always be challenged. This does not stop with the state. This holds true with all structures of power. Including the power that comes from ownership of the means of production. Challenge to that hierarchy is problematic for capitalists.

So no. So called "anarcho capitalists" are not anarchists. You can keep on calling yourself that I suppose. They may want to eliminate government that stands in their way, but they embrace hierarchies and authority. As long as they are the ones that on top of the structure.A279;

Anarcho-Capitalism is Anarchy. The point of this system is to have all rules dictated by the free market. Ancap is all about challenging hierarchy and authority. Saying that Anarcho-Capitalism is not true Anarchy is a fallacy. Also even more fallible is saying that Ancap supports embrace hierarchic. The only true authority and power in an Ancap society is in money and the free market.
