Australian Aboriginals would be better off if white people never came to Australia

This is to all those who have been saying that Prime Minister Rudd shouldn't have said sorry to the Aboriginals for the Stolen Generation because "without us, they wouldn't have clean water, houses, jobs, money etc."

My argument is that if we'd never invaded (yep, that's what we did - it's hard to 'discover' something that's been inhabited for 50000 years...) Australia, the Aboriginals would still be blissful in their ignorance of white people's existance and all these so-called luxuries they have because of us Europeans. That is, they would be alot better off as a race than they are now.

My argument for this is the same as my argument of why white people in America should not offer formal apologies for slavery:

There are no offenders left, and there is no one left to be offended.

The 'good job markets' in Australia are no use to Aboriginals - no one wants to hire them, and the Government is happy enough to pay them not to work. Therefore, the only argument worth rebutting from your first round is that they have 'clean running water' thanks to us. While that may be so, that is about the only thing we've given them that has been helpful, as opposed to detrimental, to their race. They thrived as a race for 50000 years until the Brits arrived. They have spiralled downwards as a race ever since, and continue to spiral. Wikipedia:

The Aboriginals of today are dole-bludgers, alcoholics, petrol- and paint-sniffers; they don't work, they are easily irritable and generally feared. Their race has no more respect, because we have taken it away from them. We pay them to sit at home and get drunk.

Wikipedia: "In 1996-2001, the life expectancy of an Indigenous Australian was 59.4 years for males and, in 2004-05, 65.0 years for females[27], approximately 17 years lower than the Australian average." The reasons for this are many and varied, but every single problem they face today can be attributed to the arrival of white people to Australia.

My arguments from Rounds 1 and 2 stand uncontended. Yes, the Aboriginals have clean drinking water thanks to the British invasion, but this by no means indicates that they are better off as a race. I have provided evidence to show that they are, in fact, much worse off. Vote PRO.
