I'm new to debate.org. I enjoy discussion, but Youtube is terrible because there are to many intellectual cowards who insist in insulting one another rather than having civil discourse. I am a christian and I would love to join the discussion if you post this again. Please be patient with me as I try to navigate the site. Thanks.

What if Christians shouldn't be Christians? Wouldn't it still follow then that Christians should not be pacifists based on Jesus' teachings, because they shouldn't base anything on them? :D

But somehow (see Category:Bad:VeryBad:Forfeits) pro still wins :D

Pro The whole resolution was too long to fit in the topic. So this is basically how the resolution should read.... "Based on the four gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. It is reasonable to assume that Christians should be pacifists based on how Jesus lived and what he preached" This is not a debate about whether god exists or not, and I would prefer that my opponent is an intelligent Christian and will argue that Christians should not be pacifists based on what Jesus taught in the four gospels. I don't care about the old testament or any of the new testament (even what Paul said) beyond the gospels. This is a debate specifically about how Jesus acted like a pacifist and since christians are striving to be like him as their ultimate goal, they should be pacifists too. Pro Well, like i said, it's hard for me to debate someone whos account was closed..... My reasons still stand that looking at the way Jesus taught and preached....
