The death penalty is the putting down of a person who has committed a capital punishment crime. This could include drug induced drive by shootings, genocide, murder in the course of a kidnapping, etc. Yes murder is bad and that is why capital punishment is in place, to punish those who commit the most destructive of crimes. Capital punishment in itself is also not murder as murder is the UNLAWFUL premeditated killing of one human being by another. Capital punishment can not be unlawful if it is a punishment for breaking the law itself.

If we truly want to convince people that taking away human life, and I mean any life, we probably shouldn't contridict ourselves by murdering murderers.

You say that the death penalty bring justice, but to bring death to someoneb is not restitution. It is retribution.

Furthermore, the means of killing inmates time and time again proves itself to be cruel and inhumane.

The death penalty, also known as capitol punishment, should be active in the US. The reasoning behind it is because someone who has done unspeakable actions towards the community should not be allowed to the subtle benefits of living in prison. Yes, living in prison is bad and dangerous but the prisoners also get benefits like a bed, warm food and free healthcare. Lets take the school shooter in Santa Fe, he killed 10 people, kids and teachers, and wounded 13 others. He should not be allowed to live inside of a prison and get the benefits of being inside an american prison. He should be given the death penalty. He has lost his right to live in this country because of his actions.
